This case was first brought to our attention on the 26th September. The livejournal user
remember_nomore was reported to have taken bases from the livejournal user
dev_earl and editing them and not crediting where the bases came from. This isn't exactly plagiarism, just bad form. Except for the fact that the bases weren't listed as bases and with a few of them there had been no editing at all, just the reposting of the icons as
dev_earl had made them. Screen caps of RNM's original posts are

I emailed RNM about this matter, I also stated that this incident had no bearing on her past history with
stop_plagiarism. She was appreciative of this and I received a first reply almost immediately, further communication took a while, however. RNM insisted that the whole thing was just a misunderstanding due to lack of appropriate crediting and her failure to recognize when she had and when she hadn't edited an icon. She has since apologized to
dev_earl and has removed the icons. Links to the edited icons posts are
here and
here.
While her excuse does read as false, RNM is well known for making her own icons. After further investigations into the icons in the accused posts (where I enlisted the help of an icon community, thanks you guys) I came up with not much more than we already knew, so in this case I am unable to prove that RNM is guilty of anything more than bad form and being sloppy when saving her 'bases'. I will be adding
remember_nomore to the
stop_plagiarism watch list which is located
here.
Thank you to everyone who helped in this investigation and I apologize that it took me so long to write it up.
