the case against CherryRose11
On March 25, laniew1 reported that Fanfiction.Net user CherryRose11 had copied her Ringer fanfic Siobhan, Version 3.0. Unfortunately by the time the post was accepted through the queue, the apparent copy had been removed and there were no caches or screencaps. However a Google search on the remaining stories indicated there was still a case.
Life In Berk, (screencap) posted on April 18, is a copy of RunRabbitRun's story of the same name originally posted on April 9.
Response from RunRabbitRun upon my giving her the heads-up: D8! Thank you very much for letting me know. I'm not of FF.net much anymore so I may not ever have realized.
Head Over Heels, (screencap) posted on April 14, is a copy of Chantalurina's story of the same name, originally posted on April 9.
Reponse from Chantalurina upon my giving the heads-up: Thank you so much, no, Cherryrose is not my Fanfiction account, and after I looked it up, it is my story used. This really saddens and angers me, seeing as we have personally been in contact and the summary she uses on Fanfiction is one I gave her through Private Message at her request so she could 'understand what the story was about'.
Here We Are, (screencap), posted March 11, is a copy of this Degrassi RPG Tumblr post, originally written on March 6.
Brothers, Friends, Partners, Soulmates, (screencap), posted April 18, is a copy of this untitled Tumblr RP/fic post, originally written on March 27.
A History Of Love, (screencap), posted November 19 2011, is a possible copy of this Disney Princess Tumblr post, originally from November 14. (thank you to evalentine99 for directing me to this)
The majority of the remaining stories on the profile were posted to the DeviantArt account Laforestj at a later date. When I contacted them on the initial misconception they were the one being copied, they said they were CherryRose11. Since Google searches have indicated no other hits on those stories, I am taking their word for it on those pieces unless new evidence appears.
However, given the evidence posted above, CherryRose11/Laforestj (who also has the Tumblr names cherryrose11 and hiccunzel) will be added to the list of known plagiarists.
