Decision in the Copperized case
On 22 March, henpecked reported that copperized had plagiarised a story by acidpop25 called Leading with My Heart, as Slow Dance in a Burning Room in another fandom. The original report can be found here
Copperized is also on Dreamwidth and has a Fanfic.net account under the name Xushi. This was originally the name of the Copperized livejournal, vide the link in this entry.
Investigation by Ashes and Wings, Henpecked and myself, together with assistance from other commenters, found the following list of thirty-one stories under the cut to be plagiarised in full or in part from other sources. These stories have been removed from LJ, DW and Fanfiction.Net.
Copperized has passed an apology on to me to be included in this report:
I know this will probably seem disingenuous now, considering the report in question, but I felt it had to be written.
This is my apology to each and every author whose work I plagiarized. I do not have any excuse for my actions, and I will not make up excuses. It was a very stupid and deplorable thing I did, and I take full responsibility for my actions, and any consequences that will result because of this. I should have had enough faith, and trust in my own abilities. I have hurt numerous people by my actions, and for that I am truly sorry. It is a mistake I will have to live with and I understand that my credibility in fandom has been damaged. I do not expect anyone to accept this apology, and I fully understand if people don't.
I'd also like to offer an apology for the lateness of this report.
Copperized will be added to the list of known plagiarists.
