The Case Against xheart_of_lifex/xrockoutx116
On March 13th, received a report of possible plagiarism on livejournal and fanfiction.net by the author xheart_of_lifex who also posted the stories as xrockoutx116. The original report can be found here.
At the same time mab_browne and I began investigating the accused author and trying to get additional screen caps, a hand full of stories were removed from the accused person's livejournal. We also found multiple other sites where the story had been posted. We were able to cap and confirm an additional plagiarized story before it was removed. Shortly after we were able to identify the second story, it's author contacted us to notify us of the plagiarism.
Unfortunately, due to the sheer volume of stories posted, we are still checking on each to verify authenticity of each. At this time, we are able to confirm the following plagiarism:
xheart_of_lifex/xrockoutx116 plagiarized destina's story White Knight, Talking Backwards from the SPN fandom, and
notapoet47/masb1987's story Food of Love from the Rent fandom, as well as sapporonoodles story Time We Spent In Darkness from the Blink182 fandom.
The stories were posted here on livejournal on her personal journal as well as to the Whose Line Is it Anyway communities wliialove and wl_fanfiction, fanfiction.net, dreamwidth, fanfiction.net mobile,
I contacted xheart_of_lifex regarding the accusation and received the following response:
Okay - since you asked for my side of the story... Such accusations are unfortunately true, and ones I wish I could take back and utterly regret at this point. I was going through a writer's block, and instead of actually putting some time and effort into coming up with my own ideas, I took someone's. At this point in time, I've deleted the work from my journal, and completely left the two communities where I had posted them, which were the only places that I did so.
I understand the repercussions that may evolve from this, and I feel horrible for what my actions have brought to not only the original author, but to myself. This one stupid mistake on my part will ruin all of the other work that I've done...

As mentioned, a hand full of stories have been removed before we could cap them. The two confirmed stories have also been removed from the sites posted. The mods of both communities are aware of the case. We have also reported the case to fanfiction.net.
