The case against 'Afri Angel'
On December 24th, 2010,izzanami submitted a report involving the InuYasha fandom. The case stated that Afri_Angel's fic "I want to break free" was a plagiarized version of her story. The report can be found here.
The original work, also titled I Want to Break Free, was published by Izzanami at fanfiction.net on March 1, 2009. Screen-caps prove that Afri_Angel's story was posted to The Boil Room on September 22, 2010. Both are word-for-word copies of one another; the original is currently ten chapters long, while the plagiarized version only had three posted before it was removed by the site's maintainer.
On January 12th I tried to contact Afri_Angel at a provided email. This email also came up in a search listed for an author of the same name (Afri_Angel) at a fan Tokio Hotel site. However, no fics are currently under that account. A LiveJournal account was also provided in the original report but, at this current time, I cannot confirm with absolute certainty that she is the owner. The "Afri_Angel" on LJ does list 'Tokio Hotel' as interest, but not InuYasha. To date, it has never been updated. When doing a Google search, a few different people shared this particular user name. So, although there is a very good chance it may be hers, I am hesitant to list the Live Journal at this time.
Again, the moderators of The Boil Room acted promptly with this issue, removing the story and the subsequent user account. As of yet, I have not heard back from her. Again, izzanami's story was taken word-for-word and there is enough evidence to add Afri_Angel to the list of known plagiarists.
