Case against Ouri96 on ff.net

Aug 11, 2010 14:43

I was notified that someone had posted one of my Bleach fanfictions as their own on ff.net. Upon investigating, I found other stories that had been plagiarised as well. I was able to find the original locations for some stories, but a few have not been claimed.

Hello, I will be the moderator handling your case. Thank you for the screen caps and leg work you've already done. I will be contacting the accused person.

Thank you very much for your help.

I noticed that Ouri96 lists their email address on ff.net. I took the liberty of doing a bit of a search with it to see if they had any other writing accounts that might be of interest, but only managed to turn up an account on mmo-champions.com. This google cache shows that, in addition to using the same username on ff.net and mmo-champions, Ouri96, that both accounts use the same email address as well.

This proves both accounts were created by the same person with the same email address. I linked to a google cache because they changed their email address. Their account, Ouri96, now shows this new address.
I thought this might be useful, if contacting them through ff.net proves futile.

I hope this helps. Thank you again for your help on this. Let me know if I can do anything further.

FFnet deleted the account! It's been ages... I'm confused, and slightly scared. I haven't seen that 'no longer an active member' admin note for years - it's usually the 'delete the bio' and remove the evidence thing by the user.

Thanks for pointing this out! Wow, so this is what happens when ff.net is the one to take action?

It might have to do with Ouri96 posting explicit material on the site. Either way, at least the account is gone now.
