After her conversation with Tear, Riza had been thinking a lot about her admittedly rusty moves. In some ways, of course, things weren't as dangerous here as back home, but in others, they were even more so. So many things she wasn't used to or didn't expect, and therefore couldn't prepare for. A gun, after all, wasn't much good against a homunculus, and a right hook wouldn't exactly be any better. Still, she had to face the fact that there the possibility of finding herself in a situation where she wouldn't be able to make use of her weapon. She would be at her most effective if she could improve her other skills as well.

Hawkeye watched Yoruichi enter and head to the opposite end of the recreation area, and moved to meet her. "It seems we have mutual friends," she said by way of greeting, nodding in the direction of the liquor store. "Lieutenant Havoc and I worked together for many years."

Yoruichi looked up, raising a hand in greeting when Riza spoke. "Oh yeah?" she said. "I didn't realize. We haven't had the chance to speak much, but he seems like a good guy."

All she knew was that Havoc was the cute one with the cane and the nice shoulders, England was the stuffy one, and Tyki was the good-looking, dangerous one. Still, though, the month was half over; she should probably make more of an effort to get to know her coworkers.

"You've got other comrades here as well, right?" Yoruichi checked fairly regularly for more people from Soul Society, but even with Kira's recent arrival, their numbers remained low.

She shrugged. "Yes, some. Not as many as I would like. Havoc was an excellent soldier." She rather missed the others from the office, especially Fuery.

But that was more than she needed to say. Removing her jacket--and her shoulder holster as an afterthought--she laid them aside, stretching her arms. "I assume this is the spot you want? I'm not looking to master anything, but I could definitely do with some sharpening."

The gun at her hip remained where it was, however. No sense in completely disarming herself.

Yoruichi nodded as Riza readied herself. "Yeah, the mats work well enough for a first lesson." She made no preparation herself; she rarely wore anything she couldn't fight comfortably in, and today was no exception.

She noted the gun at Riza's hip. "We don't use guns much where I'm from; I assume the impact from a fall won't cause it to discharge?" She wasn't too worried, but it had to be asked; Riza would take plenty of falls in the next hour or so.
