He was pretty sure he wouldn't be able to sleep. Everything had been too weird, too fast...and way too traumatic for him to ever sleep...after such...a day...Zzzzzzzzzzzzzz......
**********
He opened his eyes and saw the desert. Abydos. The three moons hovering over the great pyramid. There was someone standing a distance away....Sha'uri! Daniel started moving towards her, hoping beyond hope and calling to her as he broke into a run. "Sha'uri! Kree! Niss trah!" Translation: Look! I am here!

Polly watched the approaching man with curiosity, not recognizing him. Between Luke's murder and resurrection, Shinji's hospitalization, school, her job and the innumerable other things that happened on the Thor each day, it was hard to keep track of the ship's population. Perhaps he was new...
She made her way toward him, her steps unsteady in the unfamiliar sand.

Daniel threw his arms around her when he reached her, hugging her as if he was afraid to let go. "Oh how I've missed you," he slipped back into English without realizing it.

"Um..."
Reaching up, the girl returned the hug, patting him on the back in a way that she hoped was comforting. The poor man probably needed it. Especially if he really was new. She'd been here almost four months, now. While she didn't altogether miss her own home, she had enough friends who did for her to have a certain amount of sympathy.
"Um... I think we haven't met, actually... My name's Polly."

Now he's feeling more lost than ever.

That was something, at least.
"If it helps, though, I'm not sure who you are, either." She turned and looked around the desert. It was pretty, in a way... "Or where this place is. I think I've seen pictures of buildings like that, though, last month in school. Only, I thought Earth was only supposed to have one moon..."

Daniel looks back at her. "Polly, right? How did you get here? I mean, I don't even know how I got here." But there isn't time for her to answer, they're suddenly being shot at. There's three of Ra's guards, their heads in the shape of a dogs head on a human body, running across the sand and shooting blips of energy that pummel the sand around them.
Daniel grabs her arm to pull her along with him. "Run!" They're heading for the pyramid, it being the only shelter out here.

"Hey, who are those--Ulp!" And then she was being tugged along by the arm. She'd never run on sand before, and it slipped and slid beneath her feet, making the going clumsy at best. "Who are they?" she panted, trying to keep up.

They reached the pyramid's doorway soon, still dodging weapons fire from the guards chasing them. Daniel ran down the length of corridor straight for the gateroom. "We might be able to gate back to Earth..." he pulls up at the large circular dialing device and starts hitting buttons....and again...they aren't lighting up. "Something's wrong, it doesn't have any power."
And the sounds of the guards are getting closer...

Approaching the doorway, she took a moment to examine the surrounding stone, her too-sharp, blue eyes honing in until she could see the very atoms making it up. Raising her hands, she willed the atoms in the air to gather, convert, congeal, and a moment later, there was a wall of that same stone blocking off the doorway.
From the sounds coming from the other side, the guards seemed none too pleased about it.
The girl turned to the man--whose name she still did not, in fact, know. Time for that later.
"Is there another way out of here..?"

He couldn't be seeing what he was seeing. "How did...? What was...? What was that??" He points at the wall that wasn't there before, barely believing his eyes.
There's the sound of the guards firing at the wall with some success, they will probably be through it in about 10 minutes or so at their rate of speed.
"Uh...well, no, not unless we get the Stargate working..." But Daniel's having trouble thinking about that, staring instead at the woman next to him. "Who are you?" And he doesn't mean her name.

The girl frowned. She had no idea what a Stargate was, but there was an easier solution. "We'll have to go into my mind, then." She blinked. "I told you, I'm Polly." she said, holding out her hand as if to shake his. "Polymnia Terpschore Aino Perdita Zyanya, of the Eternals. Who are you?"

"What's an Eternal?"
The wall is starting to smoke slightly, they were almost through. Daniel stabs at the buttons on the dialing device to no avail and bends down to take off the panel. He almost laughs at the uselessness of it, he doesn't know anything about rewiring this stuff. He might as well have not taken the panel off.

Taking a step toward him, she placed a hand on his shoulder and thought of home. The room around them shimmered, and suddenly they found themselves on a rooftop, in the midst of a vast, crumbling metropolis spreading out below a pale, sunless sky.
"Eternals are people from the dimension of Calabi-Yau. Which is where we are, now."

Turning, she walked away, toward the stairway that led down into the building. "This was where I lived before I ended up on the Thor."
