WHATEVER anyone can bug him. His hair is also in a messy topknot today because he kind of gave up on keeping his hair out of his face. It didn't help that much since he still has a bit of hair falling out. ]
Yelling at it's not gonna help.

I'm muttering angrily.
[BECAUSE THERE'S A HUGE DIFFERENCE]

I'll cool it down for you on one condition.
Reply
... And I don't need you to sit here and blow on my tea for me! I can do that.
Reply
[ Crossing his arms as if he's actually offended by the insinuation. Considering the fact it's Zuko, he probably is. ]
...I wanted to ask about your ears. The cat ones. If you tell me whether or not they're real, I'll cool down your tea. Deal?
Reply
Why? Wanna laugh, or pull at them?
[WELL WHATEVER. he deflates a bit.]
They're real.
Reply
Laugh? They're unique, not funny.
[ He holds out a hand for Ritsuka's teacup to cool it down like he promised. ]
Guess your hearing is twice as good.

... I don't know. I've never been any different, so...
[And his mom would flip if he lost his ears at his -- oh, wait, he's 14 now. Still young, but it's not as bad anymore. This is weird.]
I can't really compare.
[Behind him, his tail flicks up a bit.]

...Gonna hand over your cup or are you just waiting for it to cool?
Reply
[I mean]
[He blinks. And then blinks again.]
... Oh. Right.
[What is thinking?? He gingerly picks up the cup and hands it over.]

It'll just take a second.
[ He lied. It takes -three- seconds. It may look like he didn't do anything, but he did some subtle firebending to adjust the heat of the tea. It's considerably cooler now! Hopefully it's not too cool because Zuko doesn't feel like reheating it. ]
It's cool now, so you can take it back. [...] You know, you seem like someone who would be drinking coffee loaded with sugar instead of tea.
[ Rude, Zuko. ]

[he takes it back and holds it in his hands, as though he's feeling the temperature. he doesn't say it's too cold though!! actually, this is probably just fine. he has a bit of a cat's tongue (ha ha).]
I don't like coffee. It's too bitter, even with sugar.
[So rude!! But Ritsuka doesn't seem to care. If anything, he's relaxed a bit since his tea isn't being such a beast.]
It leaves an aftertaste I don't like.

They say coffee is the choice drink of an adult.
[ He shrugs his shoulders and sips his own tea. Which, judging by the ridiculous amounts of steam coming from it, is hotter than most people could handle. ]
But I think people drink it because it helps them stay awake better than tea, not because they want to drink it for fun. And even if coffee is an "adult" drink, tea is more... refined...? Elegant?
[ Something along those words. He had a point somewhere, but he's not sure if he actually got it across. ]

[Also boyyy your tea is so hot how do you even handle that. He watches, blinking again slowly, before taking a sip of his own tea. He finds tea to be a little bitter too, but it's not so much that he can't handle it. It's refreshing, really. Coffee is just bleh.]
I guess coffee would be a better choice for this mission.
[his ears flatten a bit]
Adult or not, I still think it tastes gross without a lot of stuff in it.
And I think there's a saying...
[a slight pause]
"There is no trouble so great or grave that can't be much diminished by a nice cup of tea."
That's it. ...It helps with my mood, I mean. This mission stinks.

I really don't think anything can help us. I know they allot us a few hours of sleep a week so we don't die during the mission, but....
[ Well. He'd rather not admit that nine days after no sleep he kind of fell asleep for 36 hours straight. So he's probably not as bad off as Ritsuka. ]
Maybe it's a mental thing. Expecting the tea to help. Because you think it'll help, it does...? But I agree. This mission is stupid and pointless.
[ He finishes his tea and stares down at his empty cup with a sigh. The tea is all the way over -there- and Zuko's over -here- and wow when did he get so lazy. Okay, it might be the lack of energy but still. ]
Reply
Oh. Like a placebo effect.
... Maybe. I don't know. At this point, I don't really care much anymore.
[he takes another sip of his tea, but he still has plenty left. HE TAKES SMALL SIPS apparently.]
Having to wade through riots doesn't help, either.
