[ It's too bad Haruhi picked this friend to hang out with on this day, because she's been looking forward to it since it was offered. She couldn't even sleep the night before because she was so excited! What had it been since the last time they hung out? Years and years ago? It certainly felt that way to Rapunzel anyway.

She walked around the blanket a few times and then gave Haruhi the thumbs up. ]

Perfect!

[ And with that she kicked off her sandals and jumped down onto the blanket. WATCH YOUR HEAD, HARUHI]

[It had been a while since they last hung out, that much was certain. Haruhi had a bad habit of engrossing herself in her studies, so that was probably the culprit. Wanting to be a space lawyer was turning out to be a bigger job than she realized it'd be!

Haruhi plops down onto the blanket as well, her head safe from any flying sandals or hair whipping around. Speaking of, she cast the golden locks a glance before reaching for the basket. Gosh, it was so long. Trying to get her own hair to grow a little seemed like it'd take forever, but that...]

Great! I've packed up a bunch of stuff for us to eat, though I might have made too much...

I was sort of in a cooking mood, I guess.

[ That made her laugh a little as she leaned forward to peek into the basked. ]

I bet you make the best food, I can't wait to taste it!

[ Oh man Oh man Oh man, Haruhi's food! It smelled really good too. ] My stomach is talking so much it's so excited!

Ah, that's right. I don't think you've had anything I've made, before.

[grins a little]

Then we shouldn't keep your stomach waiting, huh?

[She leans forward herself and opens the basket to pull stuff out! There's soup in a thermas, tea and hot water in another thermas, sandwiches, cut fruit, strawberry cake, cheeses, sausage - and some traditional Japanese stuff, too! Like mochi and mooncakes and the list goes on and on it's all stuffed in there.]

... Definitely too much.

. . . . Oh my gosh... Oh my gosh... THIS ALL LOOKS FANTASTIC! Can I try some of everything? Would that make me a chubby pig if I did that? It probably would, wouldn't it..

[ She gives Haruhi this sheepish smile. Even though the food seemed so simple, it just seemed so amazing to see all of it right there. Maybe it's because she wasn't used to someone making food for her. ]

A chubby... pig? No way. You're way too thin and pretty for that. Have as much as you want. We wouldn't want it to go to waste, right?

[And she's still pulling out all these things Jesus it's like there are factory workers in there.]

Besides, it's not like every day is the start of a new year. It's a special occasion.

[She's taking out some plates and napkins, now!]

I'm glad you think it looks good, though. I wasn't sure what you liked. I guess that's part of why I made so much.

[ She giggles a little and grabs a plate from Haruhi picking up a few things. Especially the foreign things she's never seen before! ]

This will be my first year celebrating the new year with someone other than Pascal. I'm so happy you invited me out!

[ENJOY THAT MOCHI, RAPUNZEL]

Really? How come you haven't done it before?

[Even if she doesn't get out much, she's seen other people before, right...? /lolno]

Well.. Mother would usually go out so.. I would be at home with Pascal just watching the night's sky.

[ She smiles a little and gives Haruhi this sheepish look. ] So this is the first time I came out for it. I didn't even know it was something to be celebrated.

...Mm. You know, I haven't actually spent it with people all that often. When I was a kid, after my mother passed away, my dad had to spend long hours working - especially holidays. So I spent a lot of time by myself.

[Pours some hot water into a cup, to make her a cup of tea!]

I used to spend the night watching the sky, too. For a while, anyway. It was always really peaceful, and it would sort of seem like she was there with me.

[Holds out the tea to Rapunzel]

Thirsty?

Maybe we were looking out at the same stars at night. [ She laughed a little and scooted in a little closer. She didn't know much about Haruhi, but it was always nice to learn more about people. She shook her head to snap out of it and beamed at Haruhi]

Yes please!

[ She reached for the cup and blushed a little when her fingers touched Haruhi's. ]

S-Sorry about that!

Maybe we were. Looking at the same stars, that is. It's a nice thought, I think.

[ She smiled back and held the cup in her lap. She'd let it cool off a bit before she messed with it. ]

The sky is pretty huge, I don't see why we couldn't have been looking at the same stars.

Well, if being on the Thor has shown me anything, it's that we're all connected somehow.

[she glances up at the ceiling and frowns a bit]

It's too bad we can't see the stars here.

There's a place on the ship where we can. I go there sometimes when I just want to relax! Maybe I can show you later on!

[ She beams at her and takes a drink from the tea cup. YIP!!! She drops the cup and tries fanning her tongue ]

[something cold something cold - she grabs some of the chilled cheese with a napkin and offers it over to Rapunzel with one hand, while blotting the tea into the blanket with another napkin in the other]
