[Xion has to admit, she's been curious as to why Hope had been so insistent on knowing if she'd be coming home on time before she left this morning. since he'd asked her out to dinner, there was no way she'd have had anything else planned in the first place... so what was the big deal? she'd considered pressing him, but the last thing she wanted was to come off as pushy, and she trusts him more than anybody. still, though... she'd had the thought nagging at her the whole day while she was at work; just what does he have in mind?

when she first steps into the room after her long day at work, she blinks a couple of times in confusion. she hadn't made dinner in advance this morning! besides, this all looks freshly prepared. and... actually, wait a minute, didn't he say he wanted to go out? so why is there food here, in their room? what's going on?

it's not until she sees the candles and flowers, as well the telltale sheepish look on his face, that the realization finally begins to dawn on her.]

Hope, did you...?

[Hope blushed a bit when he realized she had come to the realization. Like part of him had just realized what a big deal this was.]

Y-yeah. Sorry I lied to you about going out tonight, but I wanted this to be a surprise. I've been learning how to cook in secret. I love that you cook for me, but I didn't think it was fair that you were the only one so...

[He spreads his arms and laughs sheepishly.]

Surprise! What... what do you think?

[she pauses for a few moments to just... take it all in. he'd done all of this... for her? hearing that little exclamation of his brings her back to her senses, though, and once she's gotten over the initial shock, a huge grin finds its way onto her face. she rushes forward and gives him a hug, laughing as she wraps her arms around him.]

You're amazing.

[Hope is taken aback at first, but returns the hug and the laughter, wrapping his arms around her as well.]

[she laughs again, nuzzling her head against his before pulling back. she hasn't let go of him completely, though.]
