It's a turian thing.
He nodded. Both his instinct and computers settled into complacency, unstably so, but it wasn't going to get much better.
Time to take point.
Even after nearly two years of leading and working together with a team, Garrus could feel the 'butterflies in his stomach' (such a strange, yet somehow fitting, human phrase) as he padded forward, rifle propped at the ready. According to the blueprints, the maintenance door before the group provided a safe, quiet entrance to an otherwise tightly locked building. Small graces-- they still needed the infiltration team to succeed.
Nevertheless, Garrus spoke into his radio, his flanged voice barely breaking a murmur even against the microphone.
"Remember, no lethal force. Use concussive rounds when you can. Most of the people in here are civilians who're just doing their jobs."
The door slid open, almost casually, as if they were expected (hopefully not) and Garrus motioned forward, using the universal hand movements that he'd learned over the years.
A pause, and then he added wryly.
"But if they leave us no choice, you do what you have to."
With that vague statement, he started forward, counting on his teammates to follow.

Shepard didn't know the other two members of their current squad but if Garrus did and if they were infact comrades of McCloud as she was told, it doesn't cause too much worry in her. She was all for giving people chances before judging them. Hopefully they wouldn't let her down.
She pressed against the side of the door as cover as the doors opened, assault rifle in hand. Her own visor scanned down the hall as Garrus continued forward, soon following after him in a stealthy manner.

"Got the tail covered, Wolf?" His fur stood up on the back of his neck, thankfully hidden by the collar of his jacket. This was not the guy he wanted watching his back. But logistically, it made more sense: the larger and slower members of a team would watch for anyone approaching them from behind, while the smaller and quicker members would be the ones to scout ahead and check that the close was clear.
And Bill was, beyond question, a shrimp compared to the rest of the team.

"I've got your back as long as you have my front."

Clinging to the shadows, Garrus continued to lead the group down the hallways, snaking around the (hopefully disabled by now) security cameras, trusting the other teams to perform their tasks without a hitch. Coming to a corner, he held up a three fingered hand to stop the small crew, bending down on one knee to peer around it.

Once Garrus signaled to stop, she did so. Having her back pressed against the wall, her hand clenched at her rifle, blue eyes glued to Garrus.

Bill slowed and glanced up at the cameras as they were lead past, dreading to catch any sign of light or movement that would indicate the systems were still active. But if they were still running, they didn't show it. He stopped before the corner, glancing between Garrus's hand and scoping their immediate surroundings.

Glasses.
"Stay here. I'm going to scout ahead really quick."
And without another word, Garrus prowled forward silently pressing the muzzle of his gun against the back of some hapless worker.
"Freeze!"

Except that being a dogcatcher in Edo had nothing to do with working at a maximum security and puppy correctional facility.
In this place, Pound Puppies weren't adorable little toys, they were hardened criminals! Drop the soap in here and everyone sniffed your butt!
With another day toiling away under his hakama, he walks out, heaving a tired sigh.
He wonders how Fox is doing in jail...maybe he could go visit him before he went home for the night.
His plans went up in smoke when he felt the cold metal muzzle against his back.
"AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!"
He was told to freeze. Not to shut up.

Once Garrus recovered from... whatever the hell that was, he slammed the kid? Banshee? Thing? into the wall, slapping his hand over its mouth.
"Shut up!"
He waited a few moments (regardless of whether or not Shinpachi actually shut up before speaking again).
"I'm going to let go of your mouth, and you're going to answer my questions. All right?"

It's like everything that he thought was awesome when he was ten combined into a custom engine of pure nightmares specifically crafted to make him pee himself.
Well.
Mission accomplished, Garrus.

No way in hell.
Did that...
...Yup. That just happened.
"Did you just..."
GARRUS PULLED HIS HAND AWAY SO SHINPACHI COULD TALK.

A nice, swift headbutt to the face.

Eyes widened and she came out of cover, stalking up to Garrus. Did Garrus just ... headbutt that child?! ... and had that child urinated in his pants?! Her nose crinkled and she glanced over to Garrus, giving him a look of 'wtf did you just do?!'.
"Garrus, you just headbutted that child!" At least he looked like a child to Shepard.
"None the less... you two made a lot of commotion."
