[Duke was scared and lost, but he was a big boy and wasn't going to cry. He left the tiny room he'd woke up in and went out of the apartment. He was hungry and he'd eaten all the snacks in the bedroom. He knew his whole town and this was not it. He couldn't find the bakery or the cafe. They'd give him free food, but he couldn't find them. He was tired so he sat down in the middle of the hallway and put his face in his arms.
He sniffed, but he wasn't going to cry. Dad always told him not to cry or dad would get really mad if he did.]
