With his hands pushed deep into the pockets of his coat and wearing one of his friendlier smiles, Izaya headed into the office on the appropriate floor of the Wayne Enterprises building, making perfect time for his appointment. He'd learned a little more about the company since his initial conversation with Lady Une, and whilst not perfect, he believed it would be a suitable place to begin re-building his career for the moment.

He glanced around, attempting to seek out the person he was looking for, or at the very least someone who could tell him where he ought to go from here.

The secretary should have point him in the right direction, ushering him toward her office. Inside, she busily attended to the latest stack of reports. She wasn't so engrossed in her reading to be unable to hear a knock though.

He knocked twice on reaching the correct office, before gently pushing the door open and leaning against it's frame, returning his hands to his pockets.

"Ah...hello. I was asked to come here in regard to the job in accountancy? I'm Orihara Izaya~"

Looking up from her reading, she gestured to a chair near her desk.

"Good day to you, Mr. Orihara. Do sit."

He did as he was asked, dropping into the chair with his usual artless grace, crossing his legs at the knee as he turned towards her.

"The same to you~ So, what details do you need from me?"

"A degree in accounting would be a plus. You're also free to intern if you'd like."

She took her documents and neatly placed them in a folder, giving him her full attention.

"I hav a degree," he gave her a languid shrug, "also several years experience with running my own financial planning company, if that helps. Though of course, I have no paperwork to present you with. It seems everything I owned was destroyed along with my planet."

That was a mild irritation to him, though he supposed he could work to replace much of what had been lost, and in comparison with being placed in a new and unusual situation, given the opportunity to observe how people cope in a strange environment, his loss didn't seem to matter, quite so much.

"And what would the conditions be, were I to choose to intern?"

"I can't exactly take you at your word so I'll have to see those skills in action. Since interning as an accountant would require you to see our financial records, some of which fall into the realm of confidential, we'll be needing you to sign a confidentiality agreement."

"Of course," he inclined his head in a differential manner; if it had been as easy as simply telling her something was so, he would have had some concerns about the state of her company, "I wouldn't have expected it to be any different. And naturally I'll be willing to sign the agreement."

"I'll send you a draft as soon as is convenient. Is there anything else you wish to learn about my department?"

"I appreciate it~" he leaned back in his chair, his demeanor still casual though something about his eyes had noticeably sharpened, "There's nothing else I wish to learn, I don't think. Though there is something else you could help me with, or perhaps more accurately, that I could help you with~ I've heard that you sometimes deal in information?"

Because ultimately that was where his interest would always lie, and any in-road towards re-establishing his former career would be appreciated. He had to start somewhere, after all.

"Yes, we do value intel."

She gave a curious pause at the query. So he was here to inquire about more than mere accountancy...

"Why do you ask?"

"I'm an observant person," he shrugged with causal ease, "I may as well put that skill to good use, if it's needed~"

"That requires another set of confidentiality agreements," she said with a slight smirk. "And I have permission from law enforcement to cut of a traitor's tongue without consequences should the agreement be broken..."

Bluffing? Maybe, maybe not...

"How ruthless~" he simply smiled in return; he was unsure of just how much he should buy into that, but ultimately it wasn't something he was overly concerned with. He never took unnecessary risks unless he was certain he'd be able to extricate himself from the situation, and he was arrogant enough to believe that he was in no real danger. Besides, it was early days here yet; there was no need to consider counter-selling information at this stage of the game.
