It was a strip joint for aliens. That much was apparent by the amount of skin shown by the alien servers and the alien ladies on the stage jutting out from the bar. The music was loud and consisted mostly of a heavy driving drum beat for the girls to dance to.

The atmosphere was a little loud but it didn't bother Sho that much. He sat at a table in the far corner, feet on the table top and his chair leaning back on the two back legs. He had been talking to one of the dancers, who then gave his legs a playful swipe before sashaying back on to the stage, her three tails twitching. Sho shook his head and laughed.

Well this was certainly... interesting. Ezio took off his hood and narrowly dodged an alien stripper who had just walked off the stage. Not much different from a brothel, was it?

He kept mostly out of the way, except for the fact that several strippers had already stopped to faun over him. He'd give a grin, whisper something insignificant and kept going.

But where could this Sho be? Ezio shifted into Eagle Vision. He glowed blue far off in the back.

"You are Sho?" he asked him, taking a seat across from him. If it wasn't him, which he doubted, he would simply leave as he came.

He had almost forgot about meeting some guy in this place. Often Sho only came here to hear the gossip and see the players in their dance around each other without them realizing that this habit of theirs was giving them away. Another thing to keep in mind once he managed to do what he wanted to do.

Arching an eyebrow, Sho swung his legs off the table and set his chair down properly. He ground out his smoke, and smiled.

"You must be Ezoi. I should have warned you about this place - the girls are a bit noisy. Do you want something to drink?"

"No, grazie," he replied as he waved a hand away. "Such a place does not exist in Roma. The noise, though, does not bother me." Nor did the girls, not too much. Though he was still trying to get used to aliens.

Ezio observed the patrons with a keen eye. "Noise is always good for a diversion," he added.

"Okay," he replied, and took a sip of his ice tea. He quirked an eyebrow at the name of the place, trying to fit it in what he knew of Italy. It wasn't much though since most of his Italian knowledge came either from struggling with the language books or watching movies featuring Hollywood's ideas of gangsters. Sho had thought strip bars were pretty universal, but then again, he never been to a small village. Things might be different in them.

"It's pretty good for watching without being watched as well," he said and set his glass down. "So what kind of pressure were you interested in?"

Watch without being watched. Ezio liked that. But he continued to wonder if his mannerisms and way of dressing would make him stand out more than hiding him. He was too used to blending among the people.

"The kind that might make a man squirm," he answered, "and make him more cooperative."

"Ah."

He dug out his smokes and lighter, taking one out and playing with it for a moment before putting it between his lips. A stall tactic maybe, but it also gave his hands something to do even as he glanced around the place, making mental notes of people and what they thought they were trying to hide. He had no illusions that his own actions weren't being noted by someone, but the crowd right now did not seem too coherent enough for that kind of calculation.

"There are a few people that are up against a barrel," he said and lit up. "There are a few that are out of reach. I don't touch the captains of the ships - who else will drive them after all? No, my business is down here where things really happen anyways."

"The captains are not of my concern." True enough, they weren't. Such a large ship, how could a captain know everything that happened?

As for those out of reach... No one was ever quite out of reach for Ezio. The person directly, yes, but they have friends, confidantes, and among those were men who despised said person. It was the way of the world he knew. Some were jealous, some were fearful, some were vain and full of pride. All of which he would take advantage of in any given situation. "I have a long reach and sharp ears, I do not doubt to find those that are just beyond your fingertips."

"Good." Besides they were mice. What do you do with mice but feed them cheese?

Could he really reach off ship though? Crippling the actions on the ships was Sho's pressing concern first, the rest second. Yes, they would always have more people replacing what was lost, but to get at those in the center wasn't practical at this point. Sho was reckless but he also wasn't stupid about when and where to hit a major power. There needed to be a right time for it, even if it was to storm a business meeting and shoot the guy down in front of normal people.

Okay, that was still a reckless thing to do.

"If we land on the right world, I can give you a few addresses," he replied, tapping off ash. "Those here... Well, there are only two major players and their foundations are already getting rattled."

Ezio is not quite that reckless. Sometimes he was, but he for the most part kept to the shadows, finding weaknesses, destroying everything and leaving them stranded and broken. Kill the men, take their knowledge, and make for the next strike. Luckily, he did not lack the patience to work in such a manner.

"Only two? Do they mislike each other or are there other reasons for them not having formed an alliance?" It was better for all parties involved that these two stay separate. If they had a dangerous rivalry of some such, it would be an advantage for them. "As for those on other worlds, are they involved as well?"

Kei had always scolded Sho for taking stupid risks like that, even if they were pretty fun. It took a different kind of work for him to get to the top in Mallepa, but even then he curb some impulses to keep from getting hit by the hard hitters.

"They've been working together, sort of. The one group is mainly into the drugs and other contraband and the other is in the prostitution and child trafficking. Neither one is that nice."

Sho just gave him a look, no nonsense, deadpan look before sighing. "Someone has to supply the raw material, don't you think?"

He leaned back into the seat and crossed his arms. Drugs, contraband, prostitution, child trafficking. The prostitutes he could speak to himself, convince them to feed him intel in exchange for protection and freedom. Of course, those two would be offered only by his hand. "They must have agents, and very good ones if they have continued as such on the ship."

Ezio felt somewhat idiotic for not having thought of that. He was used to those in power already having most of the supplies either already made or well-hidden from the people. "Yes, of course."

"They did at one time, but they're feeling a little bit pressured."

Sho has been doing that, working through the various little groups and gaining some nice contacts in exchange. One of the perks was that it made him look a little less like a threat. After all, how many pretty playboys actually went through with plans of destroying two big groups like theirs?

"I get the feeling that these ships supply them with stuff without needing all the red tape that they would usually have to go through. After all, the whole wormhole affect is common on the S.S. fleet but not any other fleet."

maestro_ezio July 20 2011, 00:15:51 UTC
"Red... tape?" The wormhole effect Ezio already gave up on trying to understand, but slang he does want to learn. "If we cut off the supply, it may strike fear among them. I assume they are well-armed, have guards or mercenaries working for them." Truly, it could go either way: either they stop altogether or they fortify.

If he only had his assassins...

"Paperwork."

He should have remembered that sometimes the Babelfish do screw the words up if they don't have an exact meaning in the listener's language. Then again, it could just be an unfamiliar phrase. People from all different times come to the ships after all.

"They've got a few left," he said, chewing on the doggend of his cigarette. He and Aya might have managed to hit a few of the smaller groups and hunt down some of the others, but they were starting to get paranoid. Maybe he should have switched from his very distinct guns to something a little easier to hide. Oops.

"You can probably see him in the mirror to my left - big guy, four arms, three eyes and a beak mouth. They call him Grizzi the Tooth."

Reply

maestro_ezio July 20 2011, 03:20:48 UTC
Ezio glanced to the mirror. Grizzi the Tooth looked like a demon fresh from hell out of several etchings and prints he had seen for sale in Roma and Firenze. Did this ship not ever stop from being so strange? He cocked an eyebrow and turned back to Sho.

That certainly made for an interesting enemy. "Well-armed and dangerous I see." Ezio had an arsenal of weapons, but taking on something like that? Poison from a distance would be the safest, if it ever came to need to eliminate this Grizzi.
