Polly was walking down one of her city's broken streets, when she noticed the water... It seemed to be welling up from between the cobblestones, and as she followed it, it seemed to be getting deeper. Gradually, the street became the river bed, and the soaring, glowing buildings dwindled away.
The mysterious, faceless person drew her attention, at first, standing as they were, but then after a moment, she looked down to notice the young man laying by the river bank and broke into a grin.
"Suguru! Hello!"

"Thanks!"
She looks around at the peaceful river bank curiously.
"Is this a place you made? Or is it a memory?"

"It was... a little..."
She looked at him curiously, having assumed that he was an Earth human, which would've meant only one moon.
"Was that a memory?"

"It's okay! It didn't look bad to me! Actually, it looked a little bit like my home-dimension!"

"Yeah, Calabi-Yau, outside of our city. It looked a lot like that."
She tilted her head, curiously, with a small, concerned frown.
"What was it?"

But she frowned a little, because she wasn't sure if she really did.
"I thought you came from Earth! But I guess some Earths have space travel! Was it a place you liked?"

Too late, she realized that perhaps that was too personal of a question. But there was so much she didn't know and so much she wanted to! Curiosity was a difficult thing to control when it was a biological imperative...
"But...?"

“It sounds a little like the Thor. We come from all kinds of places, and our civilizations are destroyed, and there are lots of scientists… And when people disappear from here, when they come back, they usually don‘t remember. ”
She couldn’t hide a wince of her own. “If they ever come back… Sometimes they never ever do…”
