[He's always hidden his feelings behind a mask - an indifferent one when he was younger, which he traded for a smiling one after Kanan died. Swallowing loads of bullshit and maintaining an outwardly unaffected expression is one of his special skills.

Everyone has their limit, though, and Hakkai is no different. He isn't sure what triggered his bad mood, if anything did at all, but he supposes it doesn't make much difference either way. He's on his way back to his apartment, carrying a bag of groceries (frozen vegetables, instant noodles, coffee, and cigarettes - in descending order of importance). Using his free hand, he removes the last cigarette from the pack in his pocket and lights it, hoping the nicotine will distract him from his foul mood.

[Krohiten is heading the opposite way, using some directions he received to find the markets; it would be good to familiarize himself with the area that would soon be his best friend of sorts.

He notices the man with bag of purchase items and nods politely in passing before thinking that he should ask for specifics just in case.]

[His mood is bad enough he almost doesn't stop when the blond stranger addresses him, but years of rigorously displaying only the most polite manners override his irritation...for the moment.]

[He's dense in some matters, but he's lived long enough to know how not to be completely ignorant to moods beyond what appears on the surface. It would be best to speak quickly and move on.]

I'm sorry to interrupt you on your way, but I was wondering if you could direct me to the grocery stores?

[Irritated as he is, he has no cause to be rude to this stranger; especially not as he's quite politely asked a simple question.]

Ah. If you walk five minutes in that direction - [He indicates the way by pointing back the way he came] - you'll come across a large movie theater. There's a wide alley to the left of it, and the markets are through there.

[There is a moment of hesitation in which he debates whether to ask the man if he is alright or not, and he concludes that that would be meddling. Unusually, he seems to be doing that a lot since he has arrived here.]
