Naminé, on the other hand, knpws the location quite well. It was one of the first places that she had ventured to on her own, and was a frequent place for her to eat at. So, why not share it with others? She didn't even think twice about inviting him to go with her. She likes making friends, so it was practically second nature to extend a friendly hand to a near stranger.
When she arrives, she takes a moment to look around the area. Having never actually met Krohiten in person, she has no idea what he actually looks like besides his face. Luckily, she spots him a little farther away. With a smile in place, she hurries over.
Looking up after belatedly deciding to search for his would-be company for the evening, he spots only one who is directly heading towards him. She appears much younger than he had thought because of the impressions given by her mannerisms. That even children such as her became stranded on this ship, it was a sad thought.
"It's nice to meet you," she says cheerfully. "I hope I didn't make you wait that long... But I'm glad that you found the restaurant. Was it any trouble?"
The Nobody looks around again, hoping that the restaurant wasn't too crowded. It was fairly popular, but there was a chance they came on a slow day.
"Not at all," he replies. "I was able to get directions."
He turns to glance at the inside of the restaurant, and it appears like a decent place, not too busy nor loud. Raising a hand, Krohiten directs it toward the entrance to indicate that she should step in ahead of him. If this were home, he would be the one being followed in because they knew who he was, but that is no longer the case.
She blinks at the movement, but doesn't question it. Instead, Naminé does as instructed and walks into the restaurant, holding the door open for her guest. Once inside, the girl goes over to the host and asks for a table for two. The alien nods, and begins to show them to their table.
While following, she turns her attention back to Krohiten. "What do you think?"
As long as it's clean and at a decent noise level, he really has no complaints. It's the food that would be the deciding factor, so he simply says, "It's nice," in response. He notes that both aliens and humans (at least in appearance) work here together, and finds the sight interesting. There is no one he recognizes.
Once at their table (it wasn't the kind of restaurant setting he is used to; more modern, perhaps?), he takes a better look at the place before asking, "Do you come here often?" He faces her after the question is asked.
"I really like it here," she replies. "It was one of the first places I visited when I arrived, so it's very comfortable for me, I suppose."
She picks up one of the menu that the host left them, and she idly opens it. Her focus remains on her companion, however, especially considering that she's already sure of what she's going to order.
"The distance is good, and it has a comforting atmosphere."
The menu lists not too many dishes, which is a plus for him. Krohiten isn't fond of places that had pages and pages of items which take time to look through and unless you knew exactly what you were going to get, there would be an inner debate on the final two choices you manage to decide on.
His eyes sweep over the words and descriptions, and he finds a couple things that sound appetizing. The smell of food that lingers in the air stirs his appetite, another plus. It is the very first dish you sample at any place that is the most important, and what makes you decide to come back. He thinks it over.
"They have really good linguine. I usually have the chicken kind, but I heard the shrimp is good too. Um, what else?"
Looking through the menu, she quickly scanning all the dishes listed. The ones that she has already tried stands out the most, but she's still not particularly sure what of food that he enjoys. He did say he'd eat anything, though...
She closes it, and sets the menu down in front of her.
"They have good soups, too. And steak, pizza, other types of pasta..."
Soup is a nice, simple starter, and the taste of the most basic dish would be an indicator to the rest. A starter and main will be enough for a meal, he thinks, and believes it to be a good choice to go with one of the recommendations.
"Hm, then I will have a Minestrone soup and shrimp linguine."
He flips to the drinks section, and decides to get tea as well. Closing the menu, he nods.
"Our server should be here soon," she replies, idly tapping her fingers against her menu while glancing around the room. It really was just like their thought-- the restaurant wasn't exactly empty, but it wasn't full enough to give them a slow service. She's thankful that Krohiten hadn't posted a day earlier or later or they might have been here for hours.
And as if on cue, their waitress arrives. She's all smiles and formality, and asks if they have decided on anything yet. Naminé returns the smile, and places her order with consists of bread sticks, the chicken linguine, and lemonade.
The waitress then takes his order as well, and once all is good and done, she takes their menus and leaves.
With the order placed, there is nothing left to distract him from his thoughts. On one hand, he feels guilty about spending time eating dinner in a nice place when there is work to be done; on the other, he needs sustenance for his human body. The girl across the table had so openly invited him with good intentions, and while he is curious about the sudden offer, he is also grateful. For what, exactly, he can't say.
"Thank you," he says. "This might be what I need at the moment."
Once she falls silent, it's easy to listen in on the murmurs throughout the rest of the building. A few tables away, a (seemingly) human couple chat about the refugees who went off in the Loki, while a burly alien noisily chews on his steak nearby. At times like this, the ship seems relatively normal-- mundane, even.
"It's nice to see people in person," the Nobody finally says after a while. "The Guide takes away from that, you know. There are people here that I've known for over a year, and yet I've never actually seen them face to face. So doing things like this just feels... better, I guess."
Glancing at the device he placed next to him, he hums thoughtfully.
"It has its advantages and disadvantages. This sort of network promotes convenience but it would also make one indolent."
He can't imagine the kind of life that was described to him, knowing someone but not knowing them at the same time. The company of others has always been important to him, to be in their presence and know that they are safe and happy. To be there, taking care of them (and sometimes the other way around).
"I tend to be old-fashioned in my ways. I find doing things with your own two hands to be much more rewarding than having them accomplished by other means. The process is as important as the result."
She can understand that; she feels (ha ha) the same way. Despite its convenience, it's difficult to have a real friendship through only the Guide. After all, you can't really think that you know a person if you're only familiar with the sound of their voice or face. There's nothing like meeting one another in person to really strengthen a bond.
Even more, there are just some things that she doesn't feel comfortable talking about over the network. Even with filters in placed, there are expert hackers on board, so you can never be too careful.
"I agree. And this is much more enjoyable anyway."
Over a year, she said. There was the possibility of having to stay that long. How much could happen in a year? Too much. Things were always changing.
His mind is racing, contrary to his languid posture and movements. He didn't know if he could bear staying here for even less than that when his students and everyone else he loves need him. Belatedly, he realises that it all must have shown on his face.
Calming himself, he thinks of how to continue the conversation.

Krohiten greets her with a simple nod.

He would return the kindness sometime soon.
