[After a few false starts including attempts at politely coughing to get everyone's attention and tapping his glass with a fork so hard that it could have broken with the force, Japan finally feels he has the attention of the room (or the island, as the case may be) -- or at least some of it. Hopefully most of it. You can really just ignore him if you want (or you've set your mind to it)....]

If I could have everyone's attention... please. [Cue bowing.] I realize this is taking time out of your busy schedules. Thank you for attending today. [He glances around.] Edgeworth-san has some questions for all of us-- I hope we will consider answering them... if possible....

Edgeworth-san?

[Edgeworth walks over to Japan's side.]

It is my understanding that all of you claim to be the personifications of various countries. To put things simply, I wish to have the truth of the matter made as clear as a properly-debated verdict. If you are indeed what you claim to be, then I expect to see proof that extends beyond ethnicity, historical knowledge... or admirable cooking skills. [This last part is followed up with a nod in Italy's direction.]

Physical evidence is perhaps too much to expect of you under the circumstances, though if you have any to present despite this, it would be appreciated if you would do so immediately.

[Edgeworth opens his mouth to speak during that tiny pause, but is interrupted before he can make a sound. His brow furrows when the young-looking man uses a question about his fashion sense to "support" his questioning of his occupation...]

[...only to be stunned into a loss of words by his alternative theory. How does one even respond to that?]

[An idea apparently occurs to the prosecutor after a few seconds, however.]

If you wish to inspect the area for any cameras, actors, or crew, you are welcome to do so.

[The continued snipes at his wardrobe don't seem to be winning America any points.]

I assure you, in my own world this outfit was not regarded as unusual. Furthermore, the cravat in particular was chosen in recognition of my mentor; I request that you please show some respect. [Yeeeaaah, good luck there, Edgey.]

To return to the matter at hand, surely the sensible thing to do under the circumstances is to ascertain the true boundaries of Oz, is it not?

[Edgeworth looks to be growing more irritated the more America speaks... but his scowl is broken momentarily by a look of realization in his eyes. When his glare returns, it's directed at Japan...]

I have a question for you at this juncture.

[...] For me? [Japan side glances at America, then back to Edgeworth. He nods. Whatever could it be....]

You have implied that you knew of me due to us being from the same world. However, were that the case, one would think that the man claiming to be America would not claim that my fashion sense is quite so abnormal. Quite the contrary, the degree of his reaction seems to imply that he would never have dreamed of seeing a lawyer in a cravat, when I am not the only well-known prosecutor to commonly wear one within my lifetime.

What is your explanation? [Hear that warning in his tone, Japan?]

[Side-glancing so much.]

Fashion is a very transitory thing, after all....

And yet not so much so that it is entirely forgotten. He made it quite clear that he could only imagine attire such as mine in a time period hundreds of years in my past, when few bat an eyelash at this outfit in the courtroom that I am familiar with. Do keep in mind that your claim already had a hole in it when I requested this meeting.

[Nope, he's still feeling slippery.] I do not see that it proves anything. Were we here to discuss clothing?
