Who: Lord Wolf O'Donnell, [OPEN!] What: Intimidation Officer Wolf is on the case! When: June 6th- June 13th Where: All around the Thor. You pick! Warnings: General Wolf dickishness. Will update if need be
Bruce was also in a pretty foul mood, having just discovered that his son had been turned into a cactus, as the ship had evidently thought that would be funnier than him simply being wormholed. As a result, he was completely fed up with nearly everything to do with this ship.
Not that that was going to stop the ol' vigilante in him from protesting. Even if he had to bullshit his way through it a little.
"It is required of me to make sure any and all refugees I come across are registered, sir. Just a look at your ID card will be enough." Wolf was supposed to intimidate refugees but he wasn't enough of a dick to try such tactics with a man of this age. He wasn't completely heartless.
Well it was a good thing that Wolf wasn't that much of a dick; Bruce, however, felt perfectly free to take advantage of that in this situation. Which he does by playing up the confused old man.
"With Thorian and Refugee tensions on the rise some of us have decided to work with the Thorians to make them feel safer about us. Illegal refugees seem to be a big scare with them so I'm one of the few out here checking IDs. That's all." Wolf may not have been a dick enough to harass the man, but he would lie through his teeth. But he was a good liar so he thought nothing of it.
Good enough that Bruce wasn't sure if he was lying on purpose or if he was just repeating what he had been told upon being hired. Not that either option really mattered at this point, beyond figuring into the changing alliances.
"It seems to me that this is more about scaring a few of the refugees."
"That is what I thought when I spotted the job notice. So I thought I would sign up and at last make sure one of us wasn't out scaring refugees needlessly. So may I see you ID sir? It only takes a flash of it and we're done."
"Ah, but the problem is," Bruce said, as if the objection had just come to him, "if it's just a simple flash of a card today, who knows what it could be later? Letting people get away with something so small seems trivial, but each time gets progressively worse and worse--"
He shrugs, as if it were simply a fact of the universe and out of his hands.
"Not necessarily. And we need to show the natives we mean them no harm. Illegals on this ship must be found. We don't have the supplies to harbor any who are not within the system." Wolf would try to fight back with logic. This old man was either stubborn or insanely clever.
"Oh, I didn't think you would share anything." But he smiles in such a way that maybe, just maybe, that's exactly what he thought Wolf would do. "But once any of these so-called 'illegal' refugees are weeded out, the entire population is guaranteed to be on record."

He continues to smile in that polite old-person way, but makes no move to leave or any other sort of protest.

"Funny how 'convincing the natives we mean no harm' seems to mean 'making sure they have information on each and every one of us,' isn't it."
