[It's not that Max has a green thumb. She just feels like her room needs a bit of... greenery to make it feel more comfortable. It's either a cat or a plant, and she's just not ready to get another cat. She still missed Schrödinger a bit too much, crazy as he was.]

Hmmm... something that's low maintenance and not easy to kill...

A small evergreen should suffice if you are looking towards easy maintenance.

Perfect. Never could have had something this small back home. My cat would have knocked it over or tried to eat it.

That would have been quite troublesome.
The presence of pets tend to make taking care of plants more of a difficult task than it's supposed to be.

Firs are known for soft needles. They aren't pine cone trees after all.
