There weren't any stockings or christmas tree lights,
which put our dear heroes into a bit of a plight.
All 'long the counter and all on their laps
were lined empty glasses and packets of snacks,
but none were quite perfect, none gold, red or green,
so one hero shouted out something obscene!
And the others, all dazzled, all caught in the trance
did each raise their glasses to the slight tender chance
that they, all mere mor... most mere mortals could p'haps somehow give
a gift most amazing, a chance to relive...--'
