Maraich didn't actually know what to think. It all seemed a little surreal. He wasn't the type to give up, even in impossible situations, so the words "you can't do anything" didn't sit well with him.
He headed to his apartment from work with no real plan, and when he got there he stood by the door quietly for awhile, pondering.
