[OPEN] some plants need a bit of water

What: Watering uhm…firing plants. Literally. All in a gardener’s day of work okay >>;; Stop and watch? Pass a comment? Be the one getting singed on the other side of the bush? Gardener peeps are free to drop in too! /o/
When: Anytime during this month before the Drive event!
Where: Some random patch of public garden in one of the larger parks on the Thor

It had been some time since Ukitake had been able to engage in some honest-to-goodness gardening, on the Thor. Several months of taking up different time-consuming jobs and being ill at intervals had quite thoroughly discouraged any opportunity to nurture some plants in a proper fashion.
That being said, he was glad he’d been able to get ahold of an actual gardening position, this time around; he’d long considered it a soothing pasttime. There was something consoling about being able to do something with your hands that wasn’t writing or fighting, that allowed pressing thoughts to wander freely and without interruption. And he was certainly doing a lot of thinking, lately…
Today was no exception - and it was in an absentminded fashion that Ukitake set his bucket of supplies and tools down on the ground, next to a cluster of tall, bright red alien shrubbery that grew by one of the many paved paths of the park. Still working through sheer reflex of habit, and barely paying much attention to the rest of his surroundings, he rolled up the sleeves of his kimono to quite near his shoulders, pulled on a pair of long gloves, and then took up a spray can from the bucket. Lost in thought, he nonchalantly switched off the safety lever on the can, took a step back from the bush, and started giving the plant a good douse of blazing fire.
Fire that...wasn't staying entirely confined to the plant at all, alarmingly enough...
