There is equipment here as well as practice weapons. Feel free to beat on some dummies before the match. Or spar with a fellow gladiator.

[Without a word, Fai takes a step back and stands ready. He was adept with a weapon and far more confident about it then his hand to hand, but perhaps he could get some practice... He hadn't done so since his last spar with Sasuke.]

[Fai didn't have the chance to say anything. He focused everything into avoiding the blow... He leaped back, trying to put some distance between him and those fists... but, he could not avoid all of it. He lifted an arm in an attempt to block the blow.]

[She was fast. It was hard to keep up with her, but something told him that Sasuke was faster. As Meiling's second attack came close, Fai leaned back as far as his body would take him so as to avoid the blow. Whilst doing so, he thrust his hand forward, attempting to make contact with Meiling's get.]

-The initial hand moved towards his, barely touching it before Fai may feel his hand just... go somewhere completely different than where he aimed, causing the blow to whif.-

[And he had guessed correctly... She was his physical superior without question. Had they been fighting using another method, he would more than likely defeated her in an instant. But, he was weakest when he was not using magic or a weapon.]

[When his attack is pushed away, Fai pulls himself away from Meiling and hops back away from her. He needed to put distance between them, even for a second. If he could, then maybe he could come up with a plan that didn't involve blowing her to kingdom come with a single spell...]
