Jace had set more subtle traps, ones that only he would know were set off. He was all about silence and catching him unprepared.

"The bells are unnecessary."

To him they were, but he was used to working alone. A conspiracy of this caliber, however, needed help. And much of it.

He was grateful Ashura knew nothing of her true purpose. That would have compromised the entire operation.

"Shouldn't Ashura be asleep? All research states that he won't appear if the children are awake."

Despite how tired she was, Ashura whined, "No. Ashura wants to see Santa, too!" And gave a pout to Jace.

She had her own purpose for being here, and that was to ask Santa for a wish. A wish for Yasha to be here on Thor. And she would not miss her chance by either going to sleep or falling a sleep. She was dead set on this, on making her wish when Santa came, and it would only afterward when she would go to bed. But only so that Ashura-ou wouldn't wake to worry and Christmas morning would come to grant her wish true.

"He's right Ashura." Lavi grinned, gently patting her head. "Santa won't come unless you go to sleep."
