How many people hated hospitals on this ship? She really wished they didn't need to bring him here, but after that fight, it was necessary...

Slowly, she opened the door, peering in and over to Sync's bed. Ah, he was awake.

He glared back. That woman had treated him before, he remembered...she worked for Ammy. He wasn't feeling terribly hospitable at the moment to anyone, no matter what her intentions were.

"What...do you want." The words were thick and hard to force out.

"... I came to check on you. You didn't enjoy the hospital the last time I attempted to bring you here."

The doctors were probably still giving him medicine; not that she blamed them. He would be in pain otherwise, yet she frowned. It made him quite out of it...

"I wonder why." His tone was bitter and tired. He'd given up struggling against the restraints, now he just wanted to rest with no interruption, in hopes that this would all go away soon.

[motherofthesun]

"I wonder why as well..."

She wasn't going to leave that soon. Instead, she approached his bed and sat down in the chair nearby.

He turned his head away, silent for a moment. Was she asking him to explain? No one could ever understand what he was feeling.

"What do you want."

[motherofthesun]

"I came to see how you were doing... Did I not say that before?"

She thought she said something around that at least. "... Have your burns been treated?"

[temperest]

He laughs a little, but it's short and pained. "No. What do you want. Because I won't give it to you." Was she here to pity him? Expecting him to express regret?

He refuses to answer the second question, closing his eyes stubbornly.

"I don't want anything, Sync..."

She didn't understand. How did he become this? He was such a curious child... at least, when she met him.

[temperest]

"Right. They all do, no matter what they say." His voice sounds a bit weaker, though. As if he's said this many times before and doesn't quite believe it anymore.

[motherofthesun]

"... I don't understand. You were so curious as a child..."

She closes her eyes. Gekigami became hot-tempered, but those means she knew... Sync; she didn't understand.

[temperest]

"I was a child." His tone claims this explains everything. "I soon learned better."

[motherofthesun]

"Learned better?"

She stared at him calmly. "I doubt that. You just tried to throw your life away..."

[temperest]

"It was worthless. Why bother with it?" His voice is flat and deadpan now.

[motherofthesun]

"It isn't worthless," Amaterasu said, looking rather displeased. Life was a gift... "Why do you keep saying that?"

[temperest]

"Because it's the truth." His head falls to his shoulder, almost listlessly. "I was created to be a replacement. I failed to fulfill that purpose, and became a tool instead. Then I failed that, too...and now I can't even disappear properly."
