It had been a few days since Shepard had arrived in the station, and she had met a few other refugees who had responded to her video log. She had put whatever that came with her into a cupboard in her small room; after a few months cruising around the galaxy on the Normandy, the room felt a bit claustrophobic. She had worse.

There was some commotion coming from the common area outside - curious, Shepard went to have a look. A young boy was at the kitchen, studying the cabinets intensely.

"What's the matter?"

Kid was so absorbed in organizing it took him a moment to even recognize another presence in the room. He turned, looking over to the woman now standing nearby, an empty glass still in one of his hands.

"Oh, you must be one of the people assigned here." He said after a pause, glancing back to the cabinet when he registered her question. "Oh, it's nothing... just this place. Take a look at these cabinets, they're in complete disarray!" He continued, going back to shifting the scarce items inside around.

At his words, she glanced at the cabinets. What things were in the cabinets were stacked in an at least orderly manner. The cabinets themselves were placed at the sides of the kitchen. It wasn't terribly neat, but at least you could get to it without much effort.

Great. Another one of those.

"I can't really see a problem with how they're arranged. Not the neatest in the world, but serviceable." she remarked.

Kid tsked as he moved another cup, the entire contents of the cabinet, scarce or not, were now completely symmetrical. "Keeping things orderly and precise is very important to day to day balance." He explained almost mechanically, pausing before another shelf to look to her.

"I suppose I should have introduced myself before- I'm Death the Kid." He said. He didn't know what to make of the woman yet, she seemed intelligent at the very least, something he learned to appreciate given most of his company.

Coming in just a little later. 1stguardian September 12 2010, 16:43:50 UTC
What a day. Ichigo had had some strange ones in his life, but this one certainly took the prize. He still wasn't sure how he felt about the whole thing, and was in fact trying to avoid examining his feelings too closely. It was too much to take in, too much to adjust to, and he needed to take things one at a time. Right now, figuring out his living arrangements took priority. That was something he had a modicum of impact on. The larger matters, the loss of his world and those he knew, could come later. Much later ( ... )

A few minutes after Ichigo came in Kid ventured out of one of the bedrooms. He spent most of the day getting things in order, which with his methods usually meant the most menial tasks took hours on end. He paused when he noticed someone in the living space- not Shepard, then perhaps one of the others.

"Hello." He offered as he walked further into the cramped space. This one seemed younger, maybe not as young as him but still a kid by some people's standards. He was glad, being a fourteen year old in a place full of twenty and older was slightly awkward, being a shinigami aside.

Catching movement out of the corner of his eye, Ichigo lifted his head from his examination of the guide in time to see Kid walk into the room. Turning it off, he set it down on the chair and straightened up. He wasn't the most socially outgoing person, and he didn't really know how to talk to people properly. Not like Tatsuki. Or Inoue. They could smile and friendly seemingly without even trying.

"Hey," Ichigo replied, smoothing out his expression into something that, while not quite a smile, wasn't a scowl either. "Kurosaki Ichigo," he added by way of introduction. "I'm new."

"So am I." Kid answered, hands at his hips. "I wouldn't be surprised if most of us are." He continued, glancing at the other rooms in the apartment before looking back at Ichigo. He seemed well mannered- at least there was some hope then.

"I'm Death the Kid." He introduced, looking over to the seats before selecting the most central one he could. It would do. "Just Kid is fine." He added without a thought. There was something about this boy, his soul maybe? It was hard to tell.

Flay manages to enter the living room from the kitchen, somehow not having been noticed coming trough the front door or into the kitchen in the first place. He takes a look around. It was a small place, yes, but it was suitable. He figured he wouldn't be spending too much time in here other than sleeping anyway.

"So this is the room, huh?" he mused to himself, though is incapable-of-indoor-volume voice could probably be heard by everyone. "It's a bit small for a base of operations, but I guess I can start here. I'll have to take over a larger place once I get more recruits."
