Toboe was walking around, alone, when he spotted a new face. Now, used to talk with the newcomers, and used to make friends fast, he decided not to be shy and approach this person to meet him.

Although when he heard Atem’s voice - he sounded... a bit frustrated perhaps - he thought twice about his actions. Maybe he shouldn’t bother him.

Well, what’s the worse it could happen? If the other didn’t want Toboe’s company, all he had to do was to tell him to go away; so the kid approached, waving “Hello!”

He looked up- someone was talking to him, right? There were a lot of people on this ship, though, so it was more probably that someone was greeting somebody else. But it wasn't as surprising as he thought when he saw that person directing himself at him.

"Hello." He responded, softy though, not having the energy for much else at the moment.

He didn’t look very good; was he sick? Toboe didn’t approach much so the other wouldn’t feel threatened. “Are you okay?” he sounded a bit down too; was it because he just found out about his world?

Atem straightened up a little, as much as he could manage, though his hand stayed glued to that wall for support. The distance helped but it also had him wondering why the other was keeping it. Was something wrong? Did he not look approachable? Probably for the best in the end...

He nodded once. "Yes, I'm alright." His stance and pale of his face most likely gave away quite the opposite notion of that statement. But he was carrying himself a little better than he had been.

No matter how much he tried to lie, Toboe was a wolf and sensed something was, indeed, wrong. “You aren’t okay at all.” Toboe stated, now approaching, his hand touching Atem’s arm softly - still not daring to do much more than that, just in case he felt threatened. “What’s wrong? Maybe I can help?” the boy tried to look at Atem’s face quietly.

It wasn't so much of a panicked jerk away from that touch as it was a quick move away. Physical touch. He hadn't had to get used to that in a long time either. So many things he was having to remember. But he quickly realized what he'd done and gave the other a slightly apologetic look. Nothing more.

The boy was being nice, after all. Just trying to help. He could appreciate that. "It's really nothing, I'm alright. A little overwhelmed with all of this." He was new, after all. But a change of subject might prove to help him greatly.

"What's your name?"

When he felt Atem shudder, Toboe’s hand immediately moved his hand away so he wouldn’t bother him anymore. He didn’t want to impose his presence, but he was truthfully worried right now; however, Toboe noticed the silent apology and simply smiled softly.

“I’m Toboe.” He answered the question, still smiling. “I’ve been in Thor for a while now. Are you new?”

"Toboe." He repeated. There were a lot of people here and it would do him well to remember which ones to keep contact with and which ones to avoid- placing names with faces. But the boy had said a while. This was actually good.

"Yes. I only arrived a couple of days ago." A little slack in his stance now that he was getting into the swing of a decent conversation with the other and not just defending himself. "How long have you been here?"

The pup thought for a while, counting the months with his fingers as he did so. Finally, when he reached a conclusion, he smiled wide “Almost ten months. It sounds a lot, but I don’t mind this place at all.”

“what’s your name?” Since he hadn’t told Toboe.

"You don't? Don't you miss your own home?" Atem was on the fence with this place. Of course he missed his planet- he felt guilty for letting whatever happened to it happen. And not remembering made it worse. He couldn't imagine settling down here. Or liking having to do so.

But he shook his head. "Ah- sorry. My name is Atem." So easily forgotten where he hadn't had to give anyone his name in a long time.

“My world was dying. And when I was there I was looking for other place.” Toboe admitted; he did sound a bit sad, but not about his world being gone. It was because I never got to reach that place he was trying to find.

“well, do you need anything, Atem? To learn about something or to find something?”

His expression softened. A dying world? Was there nothing that could be done for it? ...obviously not now, if this young man was here. The point was that if you were here your world was gone. Still... it was a sad thing to think about.

"At least we have this place, somewhere to go to after all that." Whatever the case for whomever's world- it didn't matter. They were all here by similar circumstance of not having anywhere else to go. In that they could all be a little thankful.

But he shook his head. "At the moment no. I think I was on my way back to my room." Think because... he couldn't really remember what he was doing out there. Probably an effect of not eating or sleeping, but it didn't matter much to him now. "Trying to take in all of this at once has become troubling I think." A small joke with an amused tone. It was impossible to learn about everything in one day he knew. But that hadn't stopped him from trying.

“I do like this place, unlike many other refugees. I think it’s because here is so much better than where I lived.” The pup smiled wide “I do understand if someone misses home, though. But, like you said, at least we have a place to live.”

He nodded softly, understand there was still something off. However, because Atem insisted on hiding it, Toboe didn’t push the subject. “Ah, I see. But you have a lot of time to learn, I guess. When I arrived, everyone promptly helped me, so I’m sure they’ll do the same with you.”

"Well if it's an improvement I guess there's no reason to dislike it." He couldn't fault the other. If his home world was falling apart, this seemed like an ideal place to be. Perhaps.

Though he did give a small nod. "Some people have been helpful. Others... less so." Like the ones who seemed obsessed with his hair for some reason. "But yes.. all I have is time now. So I don't need to try and rush it all. It was my mistake to attempt such a thing." Easy to admit now, and even doing so he probably wouldn't stop trying.
