After talking to people within the odd kido device for awhile, Ukitake had finally decided to move away from the location he'd first found himself in, if somewhat reluctantly. When lost in a strange environment, moving about too much was highly advised against, according to lessons in the Academy...but the situation was a bit strange, and it was becoming more and more apparent that the chances of figuring out what happened would be greater if he took up the mantle of investigation himself. Speaking to all the people in the device was good and well, but...the majority of them were kids about as clueless as he was.

A good first objective would be to find some clothing that would actually fit him properly, he supposed. The unfamiliar kimono he found himself in right now was alright, and with some adjusting he'd made sure it wouldn't outright fall off of him or anything, but it was still a couple of sizes too large. Perhaps if he could ask around, find a place where clothing might be kept...?

Ukitake had managed to travel down a couple of floors, but an alarmingly strange spiritual signature caught his attention almost the moment he turned into the first hallway on the third floor.

It wasn't helped by the shockwave that cropped up at that exact same time.

He stopped short in some alarm, a hand automatically flying to the odd katana he'd found slipped through the obi sash of the kimono. He'd thought it would be a good idea to hold onto it, just in case - and now, perhaps, that was proving true after all...

[Paying the remnants of his would-be attacker no more attention, Hades turned away and continued his path towards his chosen next location, walking towards the dolphin pool in a silence that was only interrupted by the muted sounds of his footfall, the dragging of his hair on the floor and the occasional rustling of a feather.

Had one of the other gods from his ‘family’ been there, they would have without question used the chance to point out how little ‘godly’ that way of moving was, but Hades still preferred it to teleporting blindly.

… Besides, there was always the chance to find curious things when one was willing to take the long route, like the sudden presence of something that was neither properly death nor alive, yet somehow miraculously both, proved.]

The one behind that odd shockwave was obvious immediately - and Ukitake found himself rooted to his spot at the end of the hallway, for a moment, staring after the dark figure that slowly, casually continued its way onward down the opposite direction, unpeturbed by whatever deed it had just committed.

What was that reiatsu signature...? It was hardly blatant - if anything, it was quite easy to forget about without the benefit of attention - but there was some sort of...imposing, chilly sort of depth to it. Like peering down the infinite darkness of a well and being gripped by a lapse of terrifying veritgo, if you leaned too far over it.

He'd never encountered a Hollow before, and now he found himself wondering for a brief moment - was this how one felt like? The notion drifted away shortly after arriving, however; Hollow weren't usually so normal in height or stature, after all. But still, there was an intimidating...almost frightening aura around that individual.

The best, safest course of action would be to retreat and find a different route altogether, by the looks of things - but for some reason Ukitake just couldn't get himself to carry through with that logic. Instead, grip loosening only a little on the hilt of the foreign katana he had at hand, he continued to stare at the retreating...being.

Hopefully it would just. Keep on going. And not address him or anything. Right...?

[Unfortunately, it was already too late for retreat as a faint rustle followed by a voice speaking up right from behind the too young shinigami proved.]

If you want to hide from something supernatural, you would do good to try and not to think about the being that has caught your attention. Thinking about it will make it notice you.

That was definitely a nasty shock.

He could have jumped a foot in the air, probably - with all the self-control he could muster up at present, Ukitake managed to diminish the reaction to just whipping around quickly and taking two steps back. All the same the impression of alarm was obvious, and not at all helped by the fact that he found the katana drawn halfway out of its sheath before he even realized what he was doing.

A wry voice in the back of his head noted that, if this were a class, he'd have already failed - and that, if this were a fight, he'd have already been killed - but he ignored it. Instead he stared at this thing that had been down the corridor a mere moment before, and was now...here. How? Shunpo? He hadn't even seen so much as a flicker of movement beforehand - what kind of speed could...

Close-up the thing was even more imposing than before - in fact, he found himself with an urge to move even further away from its vicinity for no real reason at all. It was a rational notion, for all that Ukitake was unawares - while his older self had come to deal in and peaceably accept death as an eventual and probably timely fate, his younger self of present was still waging a bitter fight against its looming rumor.

It took Ukitake a second or two to register that it spoke - and he blinked, hand still wrapped around the hilt of his blade in a deathgrip. As Hades might notice, there was a presence in that sword - two presences, faint and drowsy and dormant, linked closely to the child holding it and yet very much seperate...

It took a bit of floundering, but Ukitake eventually found words to reply - somehow - slightly strangled though they were.

"Ah, I'm sorry, I didn't--"

Wait...

"...Thinking about it?"

[The reaction of the young one in front of him was entertaining, even though something about that sword of his felt off. Taking a closer look through listless eyes, Hades deemed that he did - in fact - not know that child.

...Yet it felt familiar. While he did not posses the same blind faith in his instincts as his younger brother did, Hades was still experienced enough to pay attention to them. Somebody he had not seen before yet also somebody he already knew... ]

We have talked to each other before. [The words confirmed it. One of those faceless voices that had come through the mortals toy, then.]

Yes.

Ukitake blinked, at that.

"...We have?" He frowned, somewhat unsurely - he was fairly positive that he'd certainly remember someone like this. Granted, he'd encountered many people in that odd kido device, but the majority had been children, and none of them had been so alarming as this individual here.

Something about the way the latter was looking at him put him at immense discomfort, however - alarmed stance loosening only very slightly, he fought down the urge to move away a bit further and instead dipped his head a little, out of pure habit; Ukitake found that the policy of courtesy to even the strangest of strangers still held firm in this place, if only for his own peace of mind.

"...Ah, I'm...afraid I don't quite understand what you mean..."

We have. You will eventually remember. Soon.
