After the conversations he had with Chihaya over the Guide earlier that day, Kagetsuya found he had a lot to think about. Or, more accurately, very little to think over a lot. Namely the question of what tonight's talk would be about, and what Chihaya might have to say about the idea of...well, them.

But he didn't have the luxury of torturing himself with those questions; he had work to do. In a way it was lucky for him that things were so busy at Class Act these days, what with the newly opened location, the addition of another cook, a new dessert menu to play with, not to mention Maraich's generous offer of food to the newest refugees. And if there was anything that Kagetsuya happily gave his trouble up for, it was cooking. Despite himself, the hours passed quickly, and before he knew it, his shift was up, the cafe was closed, and he had a box of leftovers in his hand.

Now he stood before the door to Chihaya's lodgings, his fingers gripping too tightly the box he carried, the beginnings of a lump in his throat. Swallowing past it, he shook his head and drew his mouth down into a determined frown. Then he pressed the buzzer by the door.

Could tonight be the night? He tried not to hope.

chihaya, kagetsuya
