What: After emotiems, Arietta went exploring to clear her head, met and befriended a giant crab, and is now riding said giant crab around. Yep.

Where: Beach planet!
Warnings: Um... Sad loli on a giant crab? (But neither will attack unless antagonized!)

[Adachi is laying in the sand (on his towel, of course) staring up at the odd orange-yellow sky. He's... never been to such a nice place. Not one to look a gift horse in the mouth, he's tried his best to enjoy it with the little vacation time he managed to get. And he has been enjoying it, so far. At times, Adachi was surprisingly lucky, and though he doesn't know it, he's been fortunate enough to have not run into a single crab, though he's heard rumors of them. He figures people're exaggerating as they often do...

...until a shadow looms over him. Crabs were horrifying creatures to behold- grotesquely large crabs, when viewed upside down, were infinitely moreso. Adachi jumps, ready to book it as fast as he can, but notices a small girl on top. Oh god, he doesn't want someone to see him leave some little girl to her incredibly untimely demise!?!?

His eyes dart between the girl and ESCAPE, and finally he decides to at least look like he tried to help.]

H-hey! D-don't worry, I'll go get help! Just s-stay calm!

[Despite Barc's good intentions, Arietta's little exploring trip hasn't cheered her up too much. She did want something to take her mind off of Sync, and Guy, and.. everything, really - so this is good for that. Sh's off in her own little world until she hears Adachi's voice, though]

...

[At his outburst, she stares blankly at him]

W-what are... y-you talking about?

[Adachi was totally about to BOOK IT right away, shut his eyes and ears to her terrified little screams behind his back, but-

-he pauses when he realizes she's completely calm, and so is the crab?]

Uh... wh- h-how are you... [waves hand in a vague, general "hey there's a giant crab under you by the way" gesture]

[Arietta doesn't really get what the cause for alarm is, so he's still sort of just looking at him]

B-Barc... is my friend.

[oh god this poor child is so scared she doesn't even know how scared she is]

B..."Barc"? You want me to go get "Barc"? Um, w-where is he?

[flightandfight]

...

H-he's... right here.

[Barc scuttles closer! He seems intrigued by Adachi.. as much as a crab can seem intrigued, anyway]

[oh no this kid was so scared she made up an imaginary friend OH GOD CRAB IN HIS FACE-]

[tries to run, but, predictably, falls on his ass. he freezes in place, terrified.]

[Barc is concerned :C He comes closer, looking at Adachi]

Um... H-he won't... hurt you.

[After two or three breaths without being torn apart by horrible claws, Adachi calms a little and tears his gaze from the crab's... "face"... to the girl.]

O-oh... I-I knew that... ahaha... [still sitting in the sand, but he's relaxed a little]

[Barc just stays still. Arietta debates getting off, but instead gives the crab an affectionate pat]

He's... very nice.

[So...were the horribly giant crabs here actually nice? Adachi chances a little pat of his own on the crab's claw.]

Oh... so this is "Barc", right? Nice to meet ya.

[Assured that he won't have his spine torn out of his pelvis in the next few minutes, he directs his attention from the crab to the girl.]

Er, and what's your name? I'm Adachi. [waves- he looks a little silly, still sitting there in the sand]

[Barc makes a weird but happy-sounding noise]

He says... hello.

[Arietta doesn't wave back, but she does look at him]

U-Um... I'm Arietta.

[Thaaat's adorable- little girls talking for their pets or stuffed animals or whatever... Adachi continues gingerly petting the crab's claw, but he's more interested in the human than the creature.]

Arietta, huh? You came down here all by yourself?

[The crab's pretty content.]

[Arietta's glancing at him in interest. he seems nice enough]

I met B-Barc and he took me exploring...
