Notes: I apologize for putting this up so late; this weekend was insanely busy for me. Either prose or action brackets style is fine and feel free to respond to other people's threads (even if your character doesn't have a thread of their own) - you're not just the performers, you're also the audience!
There were nights when Lucifer chose to greet his guests at the door and nights when he chose otherwise. Tonight was one of the latter - he was already permitting them to perform in his establishment, so it was hardly necessary that he go any further out of his way. Instead, he passed the time until the appointed hour at the piano, playing a medley of whatever occurred to him, blending classical pieces into more popular ones to make something of his own.
He left it a little late, but at last he finished playing with a minor flourish and stood, making his way to the microphone he'd placed on the dais with the piano.
"Welcome to Lux. As you are undoubtedly aware, tonight is our first, and possibly only, Open Mic Night. Therefore, without further ado, I shall step aside and leave tonight's entertainment entirely in your hands."
Lucifer offered a brief, somewhat chilly smile to the crowd, then turned and left the stage, making his way to the bar to take a seat and listen.
