My Friday off work turned out to be most enjoyable.  The boys and I took a field-trip to Daly City to go see GRINDHOUSE and WHAT A MOVIE that turned out to be.  Knowing practically nothing about it I had no expectations whatsoever (excluding the trailer I saw with Rose McGowan with a gun for a leg) so it only added to my excitement.  About twenty minutes into the movie, MUCH to my surprise it turned out to be a ZOMBIE flick!!  Oh, the overwhelming awesomeness.... I was certainly enthralled to say the least.  Not only did it make Dawn of The Dead look like a joke, it also included a SECOND movie.  Yes "Grindhouse" consists of TWO movies.  Needless to say I had a most righteous movie-going experience.

(Much later) After our return I picked up Meave from the BART station.  We cooked dinner and baked some of the best (vegan) cupcakes I've ever tasted.  I can't help but feel like they're are the superior cupcake.   Albertson's only carried Strawberry and Peach soy yogurts so we decided the peach would be more fitting with the green tea flavored cupcakes we baked first.   I like those better than the Pineapple-Right-Side-Up cupcakes we made second only because  I think they would have been better with fresh pineapple as opposed to canned which the recipe called for... But what are you gonna do?  I'm just my happy sister and I are pals and live a short enough distance from each other to be able to do things like that whenever.

Today at work it seemed as though everyone up and decided to purchase mass quantities of cakes.  I can't for the life up me figure out what Easter and cake have to do with one another but hey, I'M not buying any.  Which brings up another topic; Is it just me or does Easter have the worst holiday candy?  I'm just not much into it at all... Getting to the point, I wasn't in much of a good mood all day so later in the afternoon i turned the radio on hoping it would play me some sweet jams.  Unfortunately San Francisco's "rock station" plays the same songs every time i turn it on so i decided to go with the local jazz station.  It wasn't until I heard a certain Billie Holiday song did my mood change almost instantly.  That's one of the inexplicable things about music; when you least expect it, you hear a song that just brightens up your day for some reason or another.

Thanks Billie.
