Heh. *hands you nice soft Mountie handkerchief stolen from spuffyduds What a satisfying reaction - I'm delighted you enjoyed it! Yours was one of the few comments I got before I crashed last night, and it sent me to sleep smiling.

On the Seattle thing: this story is actually part of a long arc - most of which is still in my head and will probably remain there - at one point on which Fraser and Ray relocate to the West Coast for family-related reasons and at a later point on which they build what starts out as a vacation cabin and winds up being their home on one of the islands in the Puget Sound. The stories I wrote for ds_match and due South Seekrit Santa 2007 both take place along that arc as well, the ds_match one during the time that they're building the cabin and the dSSS one much earlier, while they're still living in Chicago. I lived in Seattle for three years when I was really young, before my father figured out he'd rather teach law than practice the evil corporate version thereof, and it's haunted the fringes of my brain for a good portion of my recent adulthood. It pleases me beyond words (or, apparently, not) that you, as someone who knows the area, think it'd be a viable location for RayK and Fraser.

Do you have a link to the ds_match one? Because there appear to be no entries in the comm, and I don't know where else or how else to look.

Yep: here you go. I had the same problem finding it when I went looking recently, thinking I needed to add it to my ficlist. Turns out I'd forgotten that all the dS_match stories were posted and are archived on dS_flashfiction.
