Name: Tenzou Yamato
PB: Ryan
Gosling

Sexuality: straight
Age: 27
Employment: Dickey’s client database manager
Personality: Yamato (as he is generally called
through an intrinsic understanding by all that they are on impersonal
levels with him until invited to be otherwise) is always best
remembered for the relentless diligence through which he devours any
task. Always calm under pressure, he attacks problems with utmost
seriousness but also flexible and creative thinking that leads to fast
and thorough resolutions, all from a perspective of permanence and
improvement.

He is frequently understood as cold, especially under the gun of his
biting sarcasm and merciless manipulation of fear. In truth though,
he’s just dedicated to efficiency and embodies the philosophy of “the
ends justify the means”.

When met over a beer at his favourite watering hole rather than over a
network meltdown or attempted server hack, he’s actually quite genial
and easy to get along with. Tenzou (as his friends would know him as)
has soft spots for bonsai trees, horror pulp fiction novels, good
music and Warhammer.

In all aspects of his personal and professional life, his natural
perspicacity and finely honed attention to detail shine through.

History: Yamato is an only child to bland parents
that recently retired to a bungalow in Florida and enjoy playing
bridge with fellow elderly. He was a member of the A/V club from
junior high until his eventual graduation from public school and spent
most of his youth in comic and game shops, honing his impressive DM
skills. After high school, he enrolled in a good but not exceptional
university and happily ploughed through a bachelor’s in computer
programming. After that? Well, the job market can be tough for a
programmer trying to carve out a niche for himself in Fargo, North
Dakota.

Following that vague notion that all small-town Americans harbour
regarding fortunes to the West (and because he had an uncle there
whose couch he could crash on until he landed on his feet), Yamato
backed out of his parents’ driveway and headed to San Francisco.

After several small jobs coding non-profit organization’s databases
and websites to full PCI compliance, Yamato started to find work
coding databases of increasing complexity from scratch (and for
pay) and eventually landed his gig at Dickey’s, where he is in charge
of regular security testing and upgrades (the clientele and their
credit cards must be protected, after all), as well as data integrity
maintenance, of their central electronic client database.
