Becca's still out of the country so that will have to do for my good luck for the month.
It's been a great past few weeks since I updated last. Work at Aerospace has been typically slow to start, but that's been the case for the past three summers as well, so I shouldn't have expected anything different. Fortunately, I brought The Diamond Age my first week and was able to finish that as I was waiting for my computer and telephone to be set up. Then, before all that was fully taken care of, my boss asked me to come out to LA for a couple days so I could meet everyone I would be working with (remotely) this summer. I definitely felt like the big shot then - round trip airfare, rental car, nice hotel close to work - it was awesome. I flew out Monday, got settled, and then was able to spend the whole afternoon/evening with Lindsay in Santa Monica because I didn't have to report for work until Tuesday morning. Work was interesting; hopefully my project will turn out well enough to publish a paper. The real important thing I learned, however, was that my dad's bose active noise canceling headphones + my mom's portable dvd player + my dvd collection = a really short cross-country flight.
Other than that I've been living the summer life I intended to. Poker has been pretty good to me so far this summer aside from the 0-2 beating I took in the heads up tourney at Wiley's. And the rest of my time (plus most of the poker time) goes more than willingly to Lindsey G ;)
