Ok, so I just read this fascinating theory on time travel. It makes sense that if you can travel faster than the speed of light: You can somehow bend the whole space/time thingy. Well, thats all great until I think about the time difference between you the traveler and the people back on earth. It would only take you a little over 300 days to reach the next galaxy, but supposedly the time time that would have passed on earth is something like 2 million years.
I mean, come-on...I think you, the time traveler, would just move really, really fast and the same space/time rules would still apply.
Of course, there is the whole g force thing you'd have to overcome. Because traveling at such a high rate of speed would kill you.
The web-site I was looking at explained it clearly. All of the g-force pressing against you would crush you to a paper-thin piece of goo.
I still wonder how the rate of speed has anything to do with being able to bend time and visit other time periods. To me, the past is gone and the future hasn't happened yet.
As much of a science fiction fan as I am: Time travel just isn't realistic.
