[A long pause; Sky can be heard breathing, but not saying anything, because Lord, how does he articulate "that whole memory made my skin crawl, even if you were bringing someone to justice"? lol coming from a universe where no criminal ever dies for their crime.]
I wasn't aware you had a title, sir. "Your grace" sounds like a way someone would address a noble.
[Vimes feels somewhat uncomfortable during that pause himself. Is he happy with this memory?
Yes. It feels good, so good to hear that he had been victorious at least a few times at home when he feels so impotent here. And Carcer's a bastard's bastard. But it being broadcasted? Well, he's not so sure about that.]
Yeah, it is. It's the title for a duke. But I'd bet my right hand that I wasn't born one at least. Far as I'm concerned, I'm just a watchman.
[He hesitates, because he knows Sky's... well, Sky is young. Perhaps he's Paladin's age or Gai's age or somewhere thereabouts, but he always seems much less... experienced.]
Legal process are a bit different where you're from I'm guessing?
And by method you mean sending 'em off to get hung. Less painful than being sliced or shot, I understand. Things're different, where I'm from. Dunno if it's better or worse. All we've got are swords and crossbows and dented armor. None of that technomancy that I heard Ghost talk about sometimes.

No executions at all? [He sounds surprised, mostly because the idea of no executions in a place where death is permanent seems daft to him. Some people just shouldn't be alive.] That strikes me as an odd way of doing things.
[Stoneface knows what that pause means. Does Sky think of him, of his system of justice as a barbaric one? Perhaps. But Stoneface refuses to say that it's wrong. He gives a small exhale.]
I see. Well, it's nothing we can do here, at least. The last thing we'd need is for the criminal to pop out of his cocoon and decide to rain merry vengeance on us.

No. The subject has never come up in any of my memories, and... it just doesn't feel like something we ever did.
