16 days
its past midnight.... 16 days till my vacation... 16 days till i meet her again. so short... yet so long. after being long distance for a while now though, the time seems easy to measure if its not in months.... anything less than two months is like a weekend away.... in theory. 16 days is still 16 days... and it still sucks. actually, we`ll only have 5 days together too, and if 16 days is short, 5 is a whole lot shorter. december isnt too far away though... and the international seperation aspect of our relationship ends.
in january i will likely meet the parents. when this happens i will undoubtedly be without exaggerating, a tad nervous i think. this whole build up has been too long, i kinda wish she`d at least told them about me.... especially since i`ve met them twice now as just another dude. hope my nihongo holds up to the test on that one.
hockey tomorrow. ol b is comin back for a game, and i think the g man will stop in for a little ice time too... that moochin bastard. it`ll be cool though, a packed gaijin team, though i don`t know if we`re helpin or not. as long as i keep the lead over big m with the goal total... if he wins... he`ll never shut up.
we had a pretty good earthquake the other day. i was at r and m`s place at the time, so i couldn`t tell exactly how strong it was compared to the usual ones at my place. it started off pretty small... r said `earthquake` but everything was shaking so lightly (lightly...is that the right adverb for an earthquake?) i had to sit really still to tell. as i said commented on how small it was, it really started to shake pretty hard. the pictures on the wall rattled and i felt a little school girl scream building up inside my throat... r and m appeared unphased however, and continued with the t.v. watching, and the uncaring about the earthquake. so as not to look like a whiny baby, i too pretended like i dindt notice the picture frames rattling and dust coming from top of the noticeably dirty light fixture. it started to subside slowly... but actually ended up shaking for about 40 seconds... which to me felt pretty damn long. it was only a 3 here, but between honshu and hokkaido ended up being a 5 i heard. not bad.
