Hell of a Monday, friends... hell of a Monday...
Just a quick explanation... normally we have four people serving, running food, making drinks, and running the tills. On Mondays and Fridays we have three. Well, less than an hour into my shift one of my two Monday co-workers hands her keys to our boss, and leaves. Her old job asked her to come back at an increase in pay and she'll be making at least twenty dollars more than us at the Harddrive in tips per day. So here I am, three days into being the most experienced member of staff, and I'm suddenly short staffed. There are two of us to do the amount of work four of us usually do, and the person working with me has been working there only a couple of weeks. My boss was angry to say the least... not in the best of moods, but, thank goodness, she helped a lot, running one of the two tills at lunch so we still had someone running food without creating the longest line-up since Disneyland. Not the best way to start the week. I'm exhausted already, but, it's back to the grind tomorrow.
