04:: first haul

Aug 27, 2010 14:33

[There's a bit of tapping at first and a scrawl of ink too lazy to be called a doodle.]

Done digging around the Yard for bit.

Anybody need some forks? Got something that might pass for a sword cleaned up a bit too!!!

[More exclamation points made it more enthusiastic, right?]

forced enthusiasm, kinda sucks at this job, scavenger

Forks are very useful. Do you have them yet where you're living?

Do not worry. As you get used to Scavenging you will find more things that more people are interested in! It just takes time and work!

Yes! I was a Scavenger until recently. I enjoyed it very much. But I am also on the Watch and I wanted more time to spend with my son and my partner and my friends, so I resigned as a Scavenger.

It take up that much time?

No. It does not. But when there are a lot of things making demands on your time, cutting just one can free you up a lot.

Don't know if that's a warning or not.

It is encouragement. With time more people will become important to you and you will want to spend more time with them!

And what about the important people I left behind.

They are important as well. What memories you have of them, hold onto. But while you are here you should also form bonds. You do not know how long you will be here, and it is better to live life with friends than to be seperate from others, focused only on going home.

It is not an easy adjustment. I am not saying it will happen overnight, or that it should happen now. But it would not make sense to waste the opportunities here to meet new people and make new friends.

That is not as springlike a summary, but it works.

Seize the day that you have instead of letting it pass you by and go to waste!
