The Adventures of Billy, Bree, and Dom Part 2

Nov 23, 2010 15:31

Breeze: *She smiles and wraps her fingers around Billy’s hand before leading him into the portal. Another flash of light is sent through the small diner before the portal in that dimension closes. If only for a few seconds light seems to swirl around both her and Billy before she leads him through another portal into the living room of their cabin. It’s small but still big in it’s own right, a couch is pressed against the wall and a TV is on top of a wooden stand. A coffee table is near the couch and various knick knacks decorate the room* Well, welcome to our home Billy.

Dominic: *Appears from a side room that looks to be the kitchen and he is munching on what looks to be a spear pickle. Does he ever quite eating, nope Dominic is a human garbage disposal* So how was your first jump? You sick at all?

Billy: *After the light changes into a livingroom, Billy takes a good look around, curious despite a vague sense of nausea. He hasn’t seen a home in this good repair in forever.* It’s real nice. *He turns when Dominic reappears.* I’m alright.

Breeze:: *She lets go of Billy’s hand and stretches her own arms above her head, obviously happy to be back in the dimension of her own choosing.* Looks like we will finally have a use for the guest room now. I’ll show you around will Dom is stuffing his face. If you get hungry Billy just let me know, my cooking is not bad *Sends a glare at Dominic before motioning for Billy to follow her down the hallway*

Dominic: *Was about to say something until he catches the glare from Breeze and chooses to just chew on the pickle he has for the moment* We don’t have many rules here, just you know don’t mess with the key one.

Billy: *He follows, still looking around and probably tracking an awful amount of dust along the floor. Oops.* Where are we, anyway?

Breeze: Well it’s kind of hard to explain really. This is well more of a modern world you could say, er a modern dimension. Dom and I come here when we need to relax, at the moment we are in wooded area outside a small town in New York. The year is somewhere in 2000, not really sure. Dom and I very rarely look at a calendar anymore since we are always gone *She stops at a room and opens the door. It’s a small bedroom that though rather empty is still furnished enough for someone to stay. It’s decorated in forest like colors, dark blues, browns, and greens and has various animal pictures on the walls* This is where you will be staying. The bathroom is right across the hall *She points to the door behind them and the to two more doors down the hall* Dominic and my bedroom are down there if you need us. I figure once you get a little more used to everything we can go into town and get you some clothes *Her hand strays to his shoulder and brushes off a bit of desert dust while she chuckles softly*

Billy: 2000? *Holy crap. Now he’s a little surprised everything looks so normal compared to the 70’s. He goes into the room to investigate it a little, but turns to follow along when she points out other locations of interest. He isn’t expecting the sudden hand on his shoulder either, but he quickly realizes that he must be covered in dirt.*

Breeze: Yep 2000, not sure the actual year. Will have to look at a calendar at one of the stores in town to see. What year was it in your dimension? *She looks down the hallway, seeing Dominic coming towards them and motions for him to come closer* Hey go in your room and grab a clean t-shirt and a pair of sweatpants.

Dominic: *he raises a brow but shrugs his shoulders and walks on past, heading for his room*

Breeze: *Looks back to Billy* Dominic is a bit taller then you but he should have some clean clothes you can wear. You’re welcome to take a shower and once I make some dinner we can either just stay in for tonight or we can take a drive into town and get you some clothes. All up to you.

Billy: 197...4, maybe 5 or 6. *He hasn't been keeping track of time himself. What day, month, or year it was didn't really matter in the desert. Still, 25 years? That's a pretty big jump.* Ain't it kinda late to go out? *Really, a shower, "real" food, and sleeping sounds awesome after years of near constant walking.*

Breeze:: Wow, so you are a few years from your home. *Honestly for her, it wasn’t later at all. She was a night owl per say and loves staying up at night. Not to mention after they had built that Super Walmart, late night shopping had become a hobby of hers. Though with everything that has happen Billy was probably tired so she just smiles and nods* I suppose you are right, we will go later tomorrow then. I’m not exactly sure what we have in the kitchen so pancakes, eggs, and bacon okay. I pretty sure I have that in there.

Dominic: *Walks to the doorway and places a pair of sweatpants and a t0shirt on the dresser* Here you go, all clean and ready to be worn. Shower is across the hall, I’ll yell if Breeze starts to burn down the cabin. *he quickly covers his head and takes off down the hallway before Breeze has time to hit him*

Breeze: There’s towels in the cabinet and soap, shampoo, and condition on the shelves in the shower. Help yourself *She smiles softly and nods before leaving to head into the kitchen*

Billy:: *It's hard to be a night crawler when there's no way to work in the dark. He tends to rise with the sun and settle when it goes down.* That sounds real good. *Try amazing. Once he's left alone, he takes up the offer of a shower, getting the worst of the grit off and deciding he while he's in this dimension, he could probably get a haircut. Eventually, he emerges in the clean clothes, the legs of the sweatpants rolled up a bit.*

Breeze: *There is a smell of cooking bacon and pancakes drifting down the hallway from the kitchen and the sounds of her and Dominic’s playful banter going back and forth between the two siblings* No, I swear to touch any of the food I am smacking you with the spatula again *She laughs as she flips several pancakes then turns back to the bacon. She isn’t sure how Billy likes his eggs so she hasn’t started on them yet*

Dominic: *Sits at the table, sipping at a glass of orange juice and pouting at the same time. It’s surprising that he could still be hungry bur jumping through portals did that to him. With Breeze it made her slightly ill, with him it made him that much hungrier then he almost always was. He looks over at the doorway as Billy walks in and smiles* Feel better?

Breeze: *Glances over at the doorway and smiles right along with Dominic: I didn’t know how you liked your eggs so I haven’t made them yet. There is orange juice, milk, and water so help yourself to whatever you want to drink.

Billy: *The twins make it easy enough to find the way back to the kitchen.* Yeah. *He scratches at his damp hair. Yeah, there's still a little sand in it, but he'll get it out over the next few days.* Any ways is fine. *He heads for the fridge, taking out the milk carton.* Where's the cups?

Breeze: *Starts making scrambled eggs as it is something that Dominic and her like as well* The cabinet on the right of the sink *She points over to the cabinet as she places the pancakes on a plate and the bacon on another. The eggs soon follow after they are done and she moves to place them on the table* eat as much as you want because I assure you Dominic will do the same.

Dominic: I resent that remark *Has placed a few pancakes on his plate followed by some eggs and bacon*

Breeze: *Doesn’t say anything but laughs softly before grabbing the syrup and butter from the fridge. She then grabs the popped toast from the toaster and places them on the table as well* Okay, dig in I suppose.

Billy: *He pours himself a cup and puts the carton back. He fills his own plate, moves to the table, puts a fair amount of syrup on the pancakes, and starts on them. His table manners could definitely be worse, but there's a lot of etiquette to be forgotten when there's no need to keep up with it.*

Breeze: *Smiles but doesn’t say anything as she watches Billy drench his pancakes in syrup. She just quiet eats her own food, ignoring the two boys as they dug into theirs. Unlike her brother she doesn’t eat a lot and only takes a few spoonfuls of the eggs and one pancake and piece of bacon* I take it that it’s good?

Dominic: *Looks up at Breeze and grins a bit* It’s alright, nothing special *He is only joking and knows Breeze won’t retaliate at the dinner table*

Billy: *He needs a second before he can reply.* It's real good. *The fact that his plate is empty a few seconds later is proof enough. He sits back and finishes his milk, waiting for the other two to finish.*

Breeze: Well thank you at least someone likes my cooking *Stands and gathers the plates, making sure to ’accidentally’ hit Dominic on the head as she passes* You’re welcome to have more if your still hungry Billy. *Nods towards the few pancakes left and the little bit of eggs*

Dominic: Honestly, though how can you mess up pancakes and eggs. It so easy to make *Knows he will be in for it once Breeze is done with the dishes. That is why he has planned to lock himself in his room soon to avoid his sister’s wrath*

Billy: I'm done. *To be honest, he probably overdid it with what he's already had. Surviving on small rations takes a toll on the stomach. Now, sleeping it off sounds like a great plan.* Think I'm gonna call it a night.

Breeze: Okay, you know where to find either of us if you need anything *Fills the sink with soapy water and starts washing the dishes*

Dominic: *Takes the extra food and scrapes it off into a bowl. He likes to take any extra food that doesn’t really keep over night and feeds some of the stray dogs that run around their property.* I will be hitting the hay too. Going to have a long day tomorrow showing you around the area so get some rest.

Billy: Alright. Well, g'night. *With that he heads off to the guest room. Though he's tired, it takes him a while to fall asleep. Eventually, he manages to drift off, only to wake when the sun comes up. If he's alone at that time, he'll take a bit of time to explore the house and get a look at the land surrounding it.*

Dominic:: *The sound of his snoring comes from his room even though his door is shut. Obviously he is still asleep and probably won’t be awake for another hour or so. He is quite the heavy sleeper, a lazy bum as Breeze puts it sometimes*

Breeze: *Her door is open and no one is in the room, the bed is neatly made. There is a smell of coffee in the small cabin and front door is open, only the screen door remains shut. On the porch Breeze is sitting on the stairs, a mug of coffee in her hands. She is still in her pjs but a robe is tied around her as she watches the morning wildlife run around the front yard*

Billy: *After a few minutes of quietly exploring the house, he heads out the front door.* Hey. *That's all he offers in the way of greeting, looking out at their surroundings.*

Breeze: *Seems to be in her own world and jumps a bit at Billy’s greet before looking back at him and smiling a bit tiredly* Morning. Sleep well? *She looks back out into the yard, several rabbits and squirrels scurrying over the grass. Past the trees the sun is shining off the lake and a dock can be seen floating on the surface.* Looks like it’s going to be a beautiful day.

Billy: Yeah, pretty good. *He watches the animals for a bit. Seeing this many living creatures in one place that weren't intent on killing you was quite a change. With a shiver, Billy suddenly notices that it's a good bit cooler here than in the desert, especially in the early morning. At Bree's comment, he looks up at the sky, still and blue with a few clouds. He's missed normal.* That's good.

Breeze: *notices him shiver and laughs a bit* Definitely a change from the hot desert isn’t it. If you want some coffee or something I can get you some. *Looks back out to the lake and watches for a moment* Dom has a lot planned today apparently. Going to take you swimming and all that fun stuff, we’ll head into town later for some lunch and shopping if that’s okay.

Billy: *Coffee? He hasn't had much experience with it, but he'll give it a go.* Yeah, I'll take coffee. *Okay? It sounds a lot better than walking all day for the sake of survival.* That sounds real good.

Breeze: *stands up and motions for Billy to follow her into the kitchen* You probably won’t like it just straight black so I recommend using the French Vanilla creamer *She walks in through the door and into the kitchen. Walking over to the cabinet she reaches in and grabs a coffee mug and pours in a few scoops of creamer and sugar before pouring the coffee and mixing it* Here you go, if it’s not sweet enough I can add more.

Billy: *Though the coffee flavor still comes through pretty strong, the creamer and sugar make it drinkable.* It's fine. *He works on the mug of coffee for a moment, trying to get used to the flavor. Everyone's supposed to drink coffee when they get older, right?* What kind of shopping are we going for?

Breeze: *is at the moment pulling out expired food from the cabinet and from the fridge* Definitely food for one and going to get you some clothing since you will be staying with us. You can’t wear Dom’s clothing all the time. Speaking of my lazy brother *grabs a pitcher of water and adds some ice and water to it* Dominic doesn’t like to get up when he is told so I need to give him a little bit of an incentive *She gives Billy a smirk and walks out of the kitchen. A few minutes later a loud, almost girly scream can be heard from Dominic’s room and Breeze once again emerges to the kitchen* He will be in here in a few

Billy: *New clothes would be nice. Though he hadn't actually been growing much, his own clothes were pretty worn, and... well, he had to keep rolling the legs of Dom's clothes up. He watches Breeze fill the jug, wondering what it had to do with her brother for a moment... realization makes him surprised at the drastic measures, sympathetic for Dom, and vaguely glad that she isn't 'close' enough to pull this sort of thing on him.*

Dominic: *walks into the kitchen with his long hair damp and a glare on his face* Breeze you are such a…

Breeze: Wonderful, devoted, and loving sister. I know! What would you ever do without me? *She interrupts his little tirade before it even begins. The two of them stare at each other for a moment before Dominic backs down and leaves a very happy, smiling Breeze* When do you plan on taking Billy swimming?

Dominic: *Is in the process of pouring himself some coffee also, mulling over the question* Not sure really, we could go now if you want to Billy. It may seem chilly out there but really that’s hot for here. I have some swim shorts you can use. They are honestly too small and have never been used. Breeze bought them for me and we just never took them back.

Billy: *He stays out of the 'argument.' He doesn't know if he can get used to this kind of sibling bickering. There's a slight grimace behind the coffee mug when Dom says that it's actually 'hot' outside. That'll take some getting used to.* Yeah, let's go now. *Oh, how convenient. He'll follow Dom to get the trunks*

Breeze: Don’t get lost in the toxic waste dump he calls a room * She calls after them, ignoring the inappropriate gesture Dominic flicks at her. After she finishes her coffee she gets up and heads to her own room to put her own bathing suit on. Hey at least she could get a little bit of sun today*

Dominic: I take it you haven’t really been around siblings before *he had caught the slight uneasiness from Billy as he and Breeze had play argued back and forth.* You’ll get used to it. Breeze and I never really fight with each other. It’s always been just us two but it’s nice to have another guy around *He pulls out the shorts from a bottom draw. It’s amazing he can find anything in the disaster of a room, it completely trashed* The water is always warm I assure you so the chilliness outside won’t bother you for long *Tosses the shorts to Billy as he pulls out his own*

Billy: *He takes the shorts back to his room to quickly change, then heads back towards the front. He stands outside to get used to the different temperature. His face and hands seem to have gotten the worst of the weathering from living on the road from having been left uncovered in the sun and dust.*

Dominic: *Walks out of his room and grabs a couple towels before banging on Breeze’s door* Hey we’re heading down, meet you there. *He then walks out the front door and stands next to Billy* So ready to have some fun for a change *Nudges the short male with his elbow before walking down the stairs and starting towards the lake* So what’s your opinion on all of this so far. You know the house, me, Breeze, and the whole works.

Billy: *He gives one of those barely there smiles when Dom comes out. At the question, he shrugs.* Guess I got lucky that you guys showed up. *It's about as sentimental as Billy's going to get. He follows Dom down to the lake, not bothering to push the stray hair out of his face when a breeze shifts it around.*

Dominic: *As he continues to walk he stops at the foot of the dock and sets his and Billy’s towels on the warm wood before stretching his arms out.* Like I said we are lucky we found you too. I mean now I have another guy I can talk to and Breeze has someone she can train on the key. We all sort of gained with my little screw up *Smiles as he walks onto the dock and towards the end*

Billy: *He's pretty certain he gained the most out of the bargain, but he won't argue. It's slowly getting warmer as the morning goes on. At the end of the dock, he drags a foot through the water to see how cool it is.*

Dominic: *He just stands looking over the lake for a moment, watching the ducks at one end splash and carry on. Though as Billy runs his foot through the water a grin spreads over Dom’s face: Know what I have learned Billy. I learned that just putting your foot in doesn’t really do you any good. Helps if you just jump right in. Here, let me help you with that *Out of no where Dominic picked Billy up and tossed him into the warm water at the end of the dock. It wasn’t to deep so Dominic knew even if Billy couldn’t swim he could still manage in the water.* So how is it?

Billy: *It's been a while, but Billy can swim just fine. What isn't 'fine' is his reaction to being suddenly grabbed and thrown. He isn't used to physical contact, and the grab registered as an attack to his lizard brain. Before he's thrown, Billy struggles and tries to throw a fist at the perceived threat. Sorry Dom. After hitting the water and making his way back to the surface, he shakes the water out of his hair and focuses on Dom, expression showing alarm with hints of anger and betrayal. Why would you do something like that, Dom?*

Dominic: *Luckily from having enough fights in his young life and sparing with Breeze he was able to avoid getting punched by Billy. The look on Billy’s face only made Dom shake his head.* Ah don’t look so down Billy, just having a little fun with you.

Breeze: Doesn’t seem like he is having much fun *Stands behind Dominic with her hands on her hips, having gotten into her own bathing suit.* Seems to me he is a little ticked off *Suddenly pushes Dominic hard enough to send him off balance at the end of the dock*

Dominic: *Quickly shoots out his hand and grabs Breeze’s wrist before falling backwards and dragging his yelling sister a long with them and a loud splash is heard*

Breeze: *Comes up sputtering with a death glare on her face before shoving Dominic’s head back under the water and swimming a bit outwards from the dock* You big jerk face! I give you permission to drown him Billy, go right a head!!

Billy: *By the time Breeze has shown up, Billy was feeling stirrings in what was once his sense of humor, and by the time all three are in the water, he's figured out that it was just a joke and has let it go. The thought that he should feel bad for taking a swing at Dom occurred to him, but he didn't seem terribly bothered by it, so neither did Billy. He kicks off further out into the lake, away from the wrestling siblings.*

Breeze: *After what she thinks is proper payback from being pulled into the lake Breeze swims out the where Billy is. Diving under the water she comes barely up to the surface and grabs Billy’s legs before yanking him under the water as well. Of course Billy hadn’t done anything to her but what the heck, he is in the water so she decides to have a little fun with him to and soon resurfaces laughing*

Dominic: *He soon joins the two of them watching Billy getting yanked under the water by Breeze* you know Billy I think the two of us can take her if we team up.

Billy: *Though he wasn't really expecting Breeze to pull the same thing as her brother, her approach gives him enough warning to hold his breath when the hands wrap around his legs. He also doesn't kick out as much or as hard as he would have if taken by surprise. He resurfaces quickly and puts some distance between himself and the twins. He doesn't respond to Dom's suggestion. The idea of grabbing at someone he's known for less than 24 hours doesn't sit right with him, even if they seem to have no trouble with it.*

Breeze: *When Billy doesn’t respond to Dominic’s suggestion she only grins more and splashes Dominic* looks like your own your own *Smirks a bit before swimming back towards the dock.* Besides I think you boys can occupy yourselves without me *looks back towards the dock and sees several people walking onto it* Oh this is just what I need.

Dominic: *Laughs slightly and shakes his head as he sees Breeze heading back to the dock where a few guys are standing* Oh this is going to be interesting.

Breeze: *After using the ladder on the side she is now standing on the dock talking with one of the guys, wrapping her towel around her. It’s clear she isn’t happy about none of them being there and the look on her face says so as the taller of the guys makes gestures towards her, grinning.*

Dominic: I give it a few more seconds before he pisses Breeze off. See the taller one is friends with Breeze’s ex and they like to deliver messages to her from the jackass
*Dom’s prediction is correct and soon the taller guy is holding his nose from Breeze punching him before she pushes him into the lake*

Dominic: So Billy, what exactly did you do for fun before the nukes and all? *Is lazily floating on his back, ignoring the guys who are now helping the man out of the lake and getting back into their truck* Have a girlfriend, play any sports? Things like that.

Billy: *It takes him a moment to answer, focusing on Breeze and the intruders. He figured that she could take care of herself from how well armed she was, but it was an entirely different thing to see her actually take down a guy. It's also a little weird that Dom is taking it so casually.* I, uh, used to play baseball with some of the other kids in town. *The ones who are probably all dead by now.*

Dominic: Baseball huh? Good sport, more of a football guy myself. Breeze isn’t much into sports but she doesn’t mind me watching it with a few guys when it’s on TV *Casually looks over to see Breeze making her own gestures towards the retreating jeep.* You think after all this time the jerk would leave us both alone. Apparently he thinks we have something to hide. Oh how right he is.

Breeze: *Growls to herself and takes a seat on the dock, spreading her towel and leaning against one of the pillar like things on it*

Dominic: Like I said we get our fair share of excitement so be prepared.

Billy: *He was pretty prepared; prepared to find a rock and smash some heads in. He may not have known the twins for long, and they may have tried to drown him, but he wouldn't hesitate to kill someone if it meant helping the twins out. The sentiment shows a little on his face, a cold stare following the jeep as it leaves.* Right.

Dominic: *grins before reaching over and ruffling Billy’s wet hair* Now you see why my dear sister is so uptight all the time. She thinks she has to always be on her toes in case something goes wrong and now we have you to help us so I am hoping she will loosen up a bit. *He watches his sister for a moment before dunking Billy under the water lightly* Something tells me this is going to all work out for the best.

Billy: *He listens to Dom's short speech in silence, making a face when his hair is ruffled. Once again, he's completely taken by surprise when dunked, but now that he can interpret it as 'fun and games' in Dom's book, he just bumps him with an elbow to signal "Knock it off, dude"* Yeah, sure.

Dominic: *he send Billy a lazy grin and laughs a bit as he gets elbowed by Billy. Finally he is getting through to the other male,, trying to get him to loosen up as well* So this is your day, what would you like to do. For being a small town there is a lot to do actually or we can take a small drive and head into one of the bigger cities. Up to you really. *Dom was tempted to dunk Billy again but chose to just float on his back and relax a little.*

Billy: *He's wary of Dom now, so Billy puts some distance between him and the other boy.* Um... I dunno. *Billy's a small town kid himself, and doing the survival gig for the past couple of years leaves him ill prepared to plan a day out.*

Dominic: *It doesn’t take much to show Billy is a bit wary of him and only grins as he puts a bit of distance from him. Probably for the best, just in case Dom gets the urge to dunk Billy again* Maybe we should ask Breeze, she is the one with all the plans and all. *A look is sent over to his sister and he wonders just what kind of a mood she is in after the whole incident* I would think it would be safer for you to ask her because if I go over there she may rip me a new one. Bbbuuttt if you go over there I assure you she will be nice to you. She won’t snap at you until you’ve been here a while.

Billy: In a minute. *He doesn't want to jump into a possible conflict that he isn't prepared to deal with. Besides, they've spent hardly any time at all in the lake, so he's happy to give her a little while to cool off if she needs to. They've still got plenty of time to go shopping later.* Y'got folks like that in other worlds?

Dominic: You mean jerks like that, yeah *He nods his head and glances back to where the truck had disappeared off too* With every world you have your good people and bad people, that is if the world even has people in them. We choose this world to stay in most of the time because it’s a bit more peaceful then most. *Still keeping a float he shrugged his shoulders a bit* Lance seemed a cool dude when B started dating him but looks can be deceiving.

Billy: *Well, that kind of answered his question. If this is considered peaceful, then he's curious what the other worlds are like. He gives a noncommittal grunt at the last part. He doesn't really care about Lance in particular, just the trouble he might cause.* How many other worlds do you guys have a place in?

Dominic: Umm *counts on his fingers and thinks for a moment* 3 or 4 I am not sure anymore. We haven’t been to a few of them in a while. Not saying that we won’t though, had way more then that but certain things happen and we have to leave. * It was true there was a lot more to Dom and Breeze but it wasn’t anything bad…er well too bad anyway* So anything you want to know about us, ask away.

Billy: *Oh good. This ought to kill some time.* How long have y'all been movin' around?

Dominic: It’s been abut three years since our uncle shoved us through the portal and sent us away. It took us awhile to find a place that actually seemed normal enough to stay *He waved his arm around the say that it was this place that they ended up staying in for a while* It’s just been Breeze and I since then, haven’t really found anyone we can trust enough to take with us or keep our secret. Until we met you obviously.

Billy: All those different worlds and you didn't find nobody? *That might be his way of asking what makes him so special. Besides the fact that they didn't have much choice in the matter, really.*

Dominic: People aren’t exactly friendly to what they don’t understand and when two teenagers appear out of thin air with nothing, people tend to investigate. A lot of times we had to leave before we really got to know anyone. Other times we were welcomes and then eventually had to leave because we could produce any ids, birth records, or anything like that. Outside our own world we don’t exist. *He glances back over to Billy, catching the meaning behind his question* We came upon you by chance, also a loner and seemingly needing a bit of help. Breeze couldn’t leave you alone and neither could I and it is nice to have someone else in our group, someone who may actually understand some of the stuff we have gone through,

Billy: *He absorbs the explanation, nothing showing in his expression except for a slight twitch of a brow at 'needing a bit of help'.* Guess that makes sense. *...well, that's enough serious talk for now. Billy kicks off for the dock, ready to go confront Breeze. After climbing up, he shakes his hair out and smooths it back with a hand, then picks up a towel and heads over to where she's reclining.* Hey.

Dominic: *He decides to just lounge in the water for a moment, allowing Billy a chance to speak with Breeze. Plus it had been a while since he had actually got to swim so a little him time was needed*

Breeze: *Opening her eyes, she sends Billy a light smile and nods her head to him* Hey *She glances out towards her brother before looking back to Billy* I see Dom didn’t drown you, that’s good. It’s good to just lay back and have some fun for a change I suppose. So what’s up?

Billy: *Well, she doesn't seem anywhere near as irritated as Dom thought she would be. Or maybe he was right and she just wasn't going to snap at Billy.* I was wonderin' what else we were gonna do today. I ain' got any plans.

Breeze: Well *Her head tilts a bit as she thinks of some of the things they could do for the day* obviously we need to get you some clothes and other necessities for around the cabin. You know toothbrush, underwear. Embarrassing things that you don’t want to talk about but need. *she thinks a bit more and pats the dock next to her so he can take a seat* After that we could get some lunch, take a small drive and show you some of the sites. We have a small arcade and a park we could all go to then a nice dinner at home and maybe watch a movie or something. All really up to you Billy.

Billy: *He takes a seat when offered, but he keeps a good foot or so of distance between them.* Sounds alright. *It will be. Billy's idea of an arcade is air hockey and pinball machines. Videogames will be amazing to him, as will the quality of movies.* How long do y'all usually stay here before y'go jumpin' again?

Breeze: A few days, sometimes a week if it was a particularly hard world or jump. We make it a point to come back here and rest after each jump so we aren’t to worn out to go to the next place. Also depends on how bad the effects are. Some worlds can change you or we have a option on the key to change our appearances, to blend in with the locals should they be other then human. *She leans back on the small pole and closes her eyes, enjoying the sun. The day was warming up and was, as Breeze said earlier, looking to be a beautiful day*

Billy: You do? What kind of stuff have you had to change into? *All this different sci-fi stuff is pretty awesome. And no, Billy has no problem asking questions. Please, keep telling him interesting things.*

Breeze: *She had to let out a laugh as she watches how excited Billy gets* Anything that closely resembles a human is no problem. I mean I have had the occasion claws and tail mind you. If it gets more complicated then that is can be painful before the key has to alter your body and structure to fit whatever you are changing into. It also keeps your unique appearance. See anything I would turn into would have green eyes and black hair, if it has hair or such. If I had wanted to I could have turned Dom into something when we hit the island with the dinosaurs, but I was mad at him and wanted to make him sweat it out a little bit. *She laughs softly and run a hand through her damp hair* I can age or de-age myself if I want, just depends on what I program into the key.

Billy: *Ah yes, speaking of the key.* How long will it take t'learn how to use the key? *It's starting to sound like a pretty complicated procedure, what with all this dimension jumping and shape changing.*

Breeze: A day or so, give or take. It’s not really hard when you know what to hit and what not to hit. That and you seem a lot smarter then Dom so you may catch on quicker. If you aren’t to tired tonight we can start once Dom heads to bed. *Sure Billy is younger then her but it would be nice for a decent conversation that wasn’t with her brother or a few or the jerks in town*

Billy: That sounds good. *Hmm... better get the rest of the day out of the way then. He gets up and starts heading back to the cabin to change back into his borrowed clothes.*

Breeze: *Stands up and motions for Dom to get out of the lake before joining Billy to walk to the cabin. A grin breaks on her face and she nudges Billy lightly before looking at him* Race ya *It’s barely a warning before she breaks out into a light run towards the cabin*

Dominic: *is standing on the dock dripping wet* Hey, no fair!!

Billy: *It takes a moment for the words to sink in, but once they do, he grins and dashes after her. He doesn't try terribly hard to win, but puts in enough effort to catch up at the very least. Before moving into the cabin, he quickly runs the towel over his hair and any part of him that's still dripping, not wanting to get the floor wet. After that, he heads for the guest room, quickly changing into Dom's clothes. After coming out, it becomes obvious that something they need to pick up for him is a comb. Or a haircut. It was pretty matted and tangled when they picked him up, and it doesn't look any better wet.*

Breeze: *She does the same, toweling off any part that was still remotely wet before heading into her own room. After changing into a pair of jeans and a tank top she walks out and stops dead in her tracks. With a small smile she walks over to Billy and gently messes with his hair* We have got to do something with this before we leave *Walking into the bathroom she grabs a hair brush, extra comb, and some detangle spray before she walks into the living room and sits on the couch* Have a seat in front of me, I am going to try and tame what I can. Probably going to have to get you a haircut today as well

Dominic: *Walks into the cabin and past Breeze and Billy so he can change too* You’ll like the town Billy, it’s pretty nice despite some of the jerks that live there *He of course was referring to the guys from earlier*

Billy: *He stopped caring about his hair pretty soon after he and his pa started traveling around, so it never crossed his mind to fix it much beyond brushing it out of his eyes. He doesn't take to the idea of having his hair fixed for him.* I can do it myself. *If Breeze will let him, he'll take the comb and attempt to work the comb through. It looks like pretty slow going. He turns towards Dom when he speaks, and 'hrms'.*

Breeze: Alright but when you get the comb and brush stuck in that *She points to his hair* Don’t say I didn’t offer *Hands him the comb and other things before sitting down on the couch for the time being*

Dominic: *Is soon walking out of his room in a t-shirt and a pair of jeans as well, glancing at Billy and Breeze before walking into the kitchen to grab something to drink* We’ll have to do the grocery shopping later before we head back. That way nothing spoils while it’s left in the jeep.

Billy: *The comb doesn't get stuck, but there are snarls that stubbornly refuse to come out, even with Billy's ruthless tugging with the comb. Though he never quite breaks the teeth of the comb, he comes fairly close while fighting through the year-old knots, the frown on his face twitching occasionally with twinges of pain when he yanks too hard. He doesn't really pay attention to what Dom says, absorbed in his task.*

Breeze: *Rolls her eyes slightly before making a noise and standing up from the couch* Give me that before you yank out all your hair *She snatches the comb from his hand and put her other hand on his head* You can’t just yank on them and expect them to come out with out hurting. *She begins to slowly work on one knot at a time, starting at the bottom and gently tugging* You have to be a little bit gentle or your scalp is going to be sore for a week. *She knows she is probably invading his whole space thing but it was either this or watch him hurt himself even more* Just relax a little bit okay.

Billy: *He protests a little when the comb comes out of his hand, but it doesn't last long when she starts getting better results. He huffs a little, but stands still and lets her work through the rat's nest that is his hair.*

Breeze: Can’t be rough with everything, you know Billy. *She smiles and continues to work out the other thick knots until the comb doesn’t catch on anything anymore. Gently she runs her fingers through the still damp but now knot free hair* There we go, knot free *She past him on the shoulder before taking the things back to the bathroom*

Billy: *He runs his fingers experimentally through his hair. Huh. He hasn't been able to do successfully that for a while.* Uh, thanks. Guess we're ready to go then.

Breeze: As far as I know we are. *She walks over and grabs a bag from the table and pulls a set of keys from it* Go on and head to the jeep while I lock up

Dominic: *walks towards the door and motions for Billy to follow him as he walks out and heads towards the jeep. It isn’t much to look at, just a beat up old jeep, but it runs pretty well and Dom is pretty fond of it. How he and Breeze got their licenses to drive it or even got the jeep is a mystery and neither of the twins are going to say anything unless they are asked* You ever drive back where you’re from Billy?

Billy: *He follows Dom out. Billy doesn't really care about get licenses, so he's not likely to ask unless it somehow becomes important that he know.* A little. *The last time he was near an operating vehicle was when he was 13. Not exactly an ideal age for driving.*

Dominic: I’ll have to talk you driving sometime. These back roads are perfect to learn on, just don’t tell Bree.

Breeze: Don’t tell me what *stands there with a brow raised and her arms crossed*

Dominic: Er…I love you? *gives her a half grin, trying not to look suspicious but doing the complete opposite*

Breeze: Just…get in the jeep okay *She unlocks the doors and goes over to the drivers side and gets in. starting the clunky old vehicle. The jeep may look old but it still has a good engine and starts up rather fast.* I think we will go hit the store and get Billy his clothes, then hit the arcade and lunch. After that is up to you two as long as we get some groceries on the way home.

Dominic: You can ride shotgun Billy *hops in the back and leans against the window a bit*

Billy: *There's a spark of eagerness when Dom hints at teaching him to drive, clamping it down when Bree shows up. He gets in the car and settles in.* How far is it to town?

Breeze: Not to far 10-15 minutes at the most. Like I said it’s a small town but they are expanding it to try and attract more people here. If they do I hope they run the rats out *glares as she pulls onto a dirt road, the jeep bouncing around a bit from the gravel and pot holes*

Dominic: *grins to himself, noticing the eagerness Billy held when he mentioned the whole driving issue. He would definitely be teaching their new comrade how to drive soon*

Billy: *Cool, cool. Billy occupies himself by watching the scenery. It really is nice to see this much green stuff after all that desert. It's nice to be able to get somewhere by a means that isn't walking, too.*

*The first sign of the town coming closer is the park Breeze was talking about. Kids are playing in the large slides and on the swings, laughing and chasing each other around. Soon buildings follow the park and in a few minutes the town is all around them, small buildings and little shops on the sides of the street. They soon pass the arcade, the bright lights of the games inside could be seen a bit as they pass and soon the jeep pulls into the parking lot of a large store, the large letters reading WALMART SUPERCENTER on the front.*

Breeze: Alright then let’s get the shopping done and out of the way so we can go have some fun *She smiles a bit and gets out of the jeep, allowing Dom to hop out beside her before she locks her side of the jeep* Just press the button and it will lock the door Billy

Dominic: *stretches him arms and laughs a bit* Let’s get this done and over with shall we *starts walking towards the door with Breeze close behind him*

Billy: *He's twisting around a little as they go, taking in the town that is teeming with life, a pleased expression on his face. When they arrive at the store, he gets out and locks the door like Bree told him too before following them into the store. The style is quite different from what he's used to, but it's similar enough that it's not terribly shocking. He looks around curiously, taking in the wares visible from the door.*

Breeze: *If there is anything that was worth while it was watching Billy. The various expressions on his face as they passed the town had honestly made her day. She wraps an arm around Billy’s shoulders and smiles down at him before directing him over to the clothing* I’m not sure what you like and don’t like so just find your size and pick out some things. We’ll get most of your clothes here and once we get you more settled in we can get you some nicer clothes at a different store.

Dominic: While you do that I am going to go check out this game they came out with. Billy you and I are going to have a blast on the game console I have *he throws a thumbs up before skittering away*

Breeze: He just doesn’t want to help shop for clothes *rolls her eyes and pulls a light blue button up shirt from the rack and holds it up to Billy* You could wear this over a white t-shirt, makes your eyes stand out *She smiles before walking over to another rack*

Billy: *He watches Dom for a second as he leaves, but his attention is quickly drawn back to the clothing racks when Bree appears with a shirt. He takes a look at the shirt, then shrugs a little. Eh, he'll wear it. He's not going to be really picky. There's not much difference between the shirts, so he picks a few, nothing bright.*

Breeze: Pick out whatever you like. I think the whole pants issue may be a bit difficult unless you know your size *She continues going through various shirts, looking for different ones she thinks would look nice on Billy. That is until she feels a hand go around her waist causing her to stiffen and jerk away*

Lance: Was wondering when you would show back up in town, how’s my girl *he grins and reaches up to brush a stray piece of Breeze’s black hair from her face*

Breeze: *She growls at him and smacks his hand away* Haven’t been your girl in months, now leave me alone. *Turns her back on him, hoping he will go away*

Lance: *Of course he doesn’t get the hint, most dumb asses like him never do. Instead he grabs Breeze’s arm and turns her back around* Aww don’t be like that, as I recall we had a lot of fun the last time we were together.

Breeze: *Now she is getting rather irritated and it can be seen as her jaw clenches a long with her fists* The last ‘fun time’ I had with you is when I broke your nose and cracked three of your ribs and if you don’t walk away I am going to give you a repeat performance *With that said she drapes the shirst she found for Billy and walks back over to him and the cart*

Billy: *He grabs a few shirts and calls it a day for shirt shopping. It doesn't occur to him to get a lot of them, so he moves onto pants. The selection is mostly jeans, so he starts milling through, finding pairs that are at least long enough to fit. The staff are probably going to hate him, because it also doesn't occur to him to fold the jeans back up the way they were, instead just folding them in half and leaving them on top of whatever pile they came from. It doesn't take him long to grab a few pairs that'll probably fit (and even if they don't, that's what belts are for, right?), and heads back to the cart. After dumping his loot, he looks around for Bree, finding her heading his way with someone else on her tail. Oh good, this looks promising. Billy's eyes narrow, since the way Bree looks suggests that this guy is trouble.*

Breeze: I said go away. God you’re like a stray dog *She hisses back as she rolls her eyes placing the shirt in the cart before glancing over at Billy.* Seems like you found some pants, we needs to get socks and some other items as well.

Lance: Did you just call me a dog? *He is not getting a bit angry and turns a glare towards Billy* Who’s the short stack.

Breeze: *Turns back around* Well if the collar fits Fido *she glares at him the looks at Billy and finally back at Lance* None of your business just like everything else in my life.

Lance: *He looks at Billy as if sizing the smaller male up and laughs loudly, attracting the attention of several other shoppers* Didn’t know you were into short guys Breeze

Breeze: *Now she is pissed off. It was one thing to insult her but to bring Billy into this when he hadn’t done anything was going to far* If you don’t get the hell away from me I am going to break your jaw and have it wired shut. *Her voice is in a low and rather vicious growl*

Billy: *It was hard not to notice that he wasn't nearly as tall as he'd like to be, but Billy wasn't used to jabs at his height, and he bristles when Lance turns on him. It's not enough to push him into physical violence, but he does start weighing the pros and cons of taking the bigger boy down. On one hand, he's a jerk and seems to deserve anything Billy could throw at him. On the other, according to Bree, beating him up doesn't help, and this isn't exactly a place where you can just knock out or kill a problem and leave it in the dust. He stays back and waits to see if the situation is going to escalate, and he'll be ready if it does.*

Lance: *He only laughs at Breeze’s threat and goes to grab her once more but feels a hand on his shoulder pulling him back *What the hell?

Dominic: Dude, not cool *He shakes his head and goes to stand next to a still bristling Breeze* This is not the place to start being a dick Lance, besides it’s three against one. Just take you shit elsewhere.

Lance: You mean two and a half against one. *He obviously can’t help getting that extra dig in before he starts backing up* Whatever, I’ll catch you later.

Breeze: *She moves to take a swing at the older male but is held back by Dom as they watch Lance walk away* God I hate that ass hole, pardon my language Billy *She glances again at him and sighs*

Billy: *He was about to make a move when Lance goes to grab Bree's arm, but Dom's already there. Aw man, one incident and they're going to think of him as the prude with the delicate ears forever? Whatever, guys. Billy loosens up when Lance walks off, glad that the conflict was averted for the time being, but irritated at the fact that they couldn't just take care of him and solve the problem for good.* Let's go. *They need socks and stuff, right?*

Breeze: *glares for a moment before calming down a bit and letting out a long breath* You two go do the socks and er..other things you need. I will go get some shampoo, deodorant, and everything else that’s in that department. Meet me at the shoes after okay. *she waves her hand for a moment before heading towards the soap aisle*

Dominic: *He simply shakes his head and starts wheeling the cart towards the socks and underwear area* So yeah, that’s Lance. Not Breeze’s best choice in guys but you know the saying. Gotta kiss a few frogs before you find a Prince *he shrugs and glances at the cart of clothes* These should last you for a while. We’ll probably get you some traveling clothes and other things later when we decide to, you know..jump again.

Billy: How long's he been followin' you guys? *Traveling clothes and everyday clothes were the same thing in Billy's book. He goes through the area pretty quickly, coming back with a few packaged sets.* What kind of other stuff?

Dominic: *He shrugs a bit, think about Lance* Month or so now, ever since Bree broke it off with him. He’s not the nicest guy and refuses to let it go through his head that Bree doesn’t want him near her. You know type of guy that if he ain’t the one to break it off then it isn’t over *He shakes his head before starting to push the cart towards the shoes* Well since your such a good shot I figured we can get you some sort of weapon for the jumps. Your pick obviously, I mean you have awesome aim might as well try to expand it to other things other then rocks.

Billy: *There's a word for people like that: moron. He does take interest in the mention of weaponry.* Yeah? Like what?

Dominic: I dunno, I would say a cross bow or something maybe one of those awesome slingshots. Like I said not sure what you can and can’t handle. Have to go through the small arsenal Breeze has in the basement and see what we can find *He grins and looks up as Breeze walks towards them, several items in her hand* Find everything? *He doesn’t mention the idea about the weapons to her just yet, afraid she may take one and go get Lance herself*

Breeze: *She nods and puts the items in the cart, looking over it for a moment* Just have to get you some shoes and we will be all good. Anything else you need or want while we’re here, besides the essentails?

Billy: *Crossbow? Slingshot sounds a bit more like it, even if it is a bit juvenile. Oh well, arsenal sounds fun, so he'll see when they get back. When Bree reappears and asks if he needs anything else, he shrugs. He's got more than he's ever needed over the past couple of years.* I'm done.

Breeze: Okay then let’s get going *She smiles a little and pushes the cart towards the front of the store* We can go to the arcade after this if you want. I know they have food there so we can have lunch, burgers or pizza or something.

Dominic: *As if on cue his stomach lets out a small growl and he grins sheepishly* Sorry, didn’t exactly eat much breakfast and coffee can only go so far you know.

Breeze: *She rolls her eyes and chuckles a bit* Yeah sure, so what will it be Billy, all up to you *As they reach the front, she puts the stuff on the belt and walks to the cashier, fishing her wallet from her purse and taking out a debit card*

Billy: *He didn't do breakfast either, but Billy's been practically starving himself for months, so hunger is nothing new. Holy crap, pizza you say?* I could go for pizza. *Don't judge him. Civilization is a magnificent thing.*

Breeze: *She lets out a small laugh, amused at how excited Billy could get over small things that they took for granted. Though he wasn’t outright ecstatic about it but Breeze could tell* Okay pizza it is. *She smiles and swipes her card, paying for the clothing and other things*

Dominic: *The thought of pizza makes Dom’s stomach growl again and he hurries to put the bags into the cart* Well then, let get to the jeep and head over to the arcade.

Breeze: *Getting the receipt, she pushes the cart out towards the jeep. Just the thought of having a nice time at the arcade and making Billy smile had driven the thoughts of Lance from her mind for the time being* I think you will enjoy this Billy.
