I Stole This From Mat

Just to let you know, I'm pretty much done with Livejournal forever. I also won't be on myspace as much. I'm now into GreatestJournal at the moment. I find it more intimate and less annoying at the moment. You can read SOME of my entries without getting an account if you're interested but the juicy stuff is friends only.So you'll need an account. Come join! The only thing that sucks about Greatest Journal is that not that many people I know have it. That's why I'm trying to change that.

GreatestJournal is a free service that allows users to create their own journals at http://www.greatestjournal.com/create.bml. If they so choose to, users can have accounts simply for that sole purpose.

However, it also allows free interaction between all users through communities and the option of commenting on others' journal entries. All other users can leave comments on a user's public entries, unless the user disables commenting or restricts it to only allow certain people to be able to comment.

The only restrictions are obvious ones pertaining to courtesy and inappropriate material. Threatening comments, harassment, and theft are not tolerated at GreatestJournal, and users will either be warned or suspended if they behave in such a way.

What is the Difference Between GreatestJournal and LiveJournal?

GreatestJournal was created with the same open source code as LiveJournal, but the two are not affiliated. You may find other journaling sites that also appear similar because they are using this same open source code. Many of LiveJournal's paid features are free on GreatestJournal as explained at http://www.greatestjournal.com/support/faqbrowse.bml?faqid=28. We invite you to start a free journal at http://www.greatestjournal.com/create.bml.

As a user, you have:

2000 user pictures ("icons") that are 100x100 pixels in area and up to 60k in size

Storage for up to 1000 images for use within your journal (limited to up to 2048x2048 pixels in area and 350k in size)

The ability to create and edit custom mood sets

The ability to create customized layouts using either S1 or S2 styles

Help and support for all users

A photo album

Topic forums

and private messages

So pretty much it's a billion times cooler than livejournal but just as easy to use. Most those features livejournal either doesn't have or you have to pay for them. But they're all free with greatestjournal.
