updates, weather and musicals

Well, it's been a busy week here. Work has been wringing both of us out and wearing us down, but by god it hasn't killed us yet ...YET, I say! kirvin3 spent last weekend out of town with a friend, and then had several v.busy and late days at work this week, but I had a few days off so at least I got to pamper her a bit.

Then the snow started friday afternoon. I had a great conversation with my Uncle Dave Friday morning (favorite uncle btw) who is on his second tour in Iraq. He's about tired of desert sun, and chasing smugglers through said desert, but doing fine. We were just chatting and kvetching mostly about how bloody cold it was here (12 degrees at the time) but no snow on the ground. I hate it when it's that frozen cold and all you have to look at is dead grass - it's just adding insult to injury. So apparently the weather gods heard me. It started snowing here about 4, and by the time m'lady made it home we had about 3" and I was out shoveling. Of course we had another 3" or so by then. Yay for not shoveling that 'till morning.

Of course We slept late, so no shoveling as we had to run out to be on time for our musical ...and it was sleeting with little ice balls thrown in. But the musical was worth facing the weather. We had tickets to Avenue Q, and it was hilarious. It really is a dirty muppett show, but I haven't laughed that hard in a long time. If you get the chance, by all means go see it. The 'Bad Idea Bears' and 'Trekkie Monster' are some of the best bits.

And we got home to another 2 inches of (mostly) frozen slush to dig out. Oy! Fortunately, it's sunny today (if not warm - the thermometer says 18) so maybe some of that will melt before I finish this and make it out to shovel again.

Be well, be warm!
