so this afternoon, while my dear sweet ol' boyfriend was leaving town to go to a party he sat and complained to me about how pessismistic i am. how i only see the glass half empty or no half at all; furththermore, the fact that he said he only hears despondent things come out of my mouth. so that leaves me hear, because no one in my life has ever called me pessismistic, ever. i may sit hear and offend you ,yes, do i care? no, not really. if i do piss you off, stop reading. simple soluttion. getting mad is no state anyone should be in anyways, nor would i enjoy hearing you complain to me about myself or even you.
ok so, you may think your an optimist, right? lots of people love to think of themselves like that. cold hard truth about optimist's, you get hurt easily. i mean, really so effortlessly, it tends to be kind of petty and sad on the optimist's part. optimism is defined as " a disposition or tendancy to look on the more favorable side of events or conditions." this sounds great, right?! why wouldn't you want to strive to be an optimist? i'll tell you why, because what you want to happen never actually does happen in the favor you want it to happen. ok, how many of the word happen was in that statement? __
things that come may come out of an optimist's mouth: "atleast we made it" "ok maybe tomorrow the sun will shine" "well i just failed this class, maybe i will pass the next class" "eventhough my life totally sucks, it really doesn't" . ok so the chances of anyone hearing any of that are slim, but i thought it was funny picturing this guy in my head that is just like "hmm oh well". come to think of it optimist's are very much like the charachter Winnie the Pooh. but, Winnie the Pooh is deffinitely inbetween a pessimist and optimist, he's the guy that has it just right.
Anyway, back to my point of dwindling away at optimists. So my dear optimists who are reading this, many of like yous, have not ever had anything tragic happen in your lives. so i ask this question my dear optimist's when your father dies, what are you going to say? pessimist's have the upper hand to this question, because they will cry and pick them selves up the next day and expect the unexpected to happen in any situation.
now what makes a pessismistic a pessismistic? i am getting tierd of typing pessimistic so i will use pess, no not pezz the candy, pess. people in the pess state of mind, prepare for worst just in case it does happen. they also tend to focus on went wrong, or why someone got mad. pess people are thinkers, they are not afraid to get hurt, to have their dreams smashed. that would be aweful, but it's true. only because it could happen to anybody, then what would happen. shrug it off your damn shoulders people, oh well. also, something that really pisses off people in the "optimist state of mind" is having a pess person piss them off, because frankly being pessismistic is reality. why, because the chances of something going horribly wrong are alot higher than having something happen that is in favor of you.
you are stupid, how the hell can you not spell that. look at the world man anything could happen, are you stupid, what is your problem, really, uhh what else is wrong, the world could end tomorrow so what. these are a few of my favorite phrases. now, i realize what the boy probally ment is that i just offend him a lot;why, because i speak the truth. the truth hurts people. duh. ok so maybe what comes out of my mouth isn't the truth, but it is my opinion that i stand by, so in my mind yes, it is the truth.
conclusion: if you don't want my opinion, you are safer off not asking, not evening telling me because i will give it to you anways, because it is what i think. i may be the most unstable, unsure, tree-hugging, people person, realist (pessimistic) 17 year old you will probally find.
reality is all that matters, because it is happening right now. yes. right now.
