Appearance: Ren is a beautiful elegant looking woman, that certainly doesn't look her age. She has long flowing black hair that goes down to her lower back, brown eyes that are very expressive and a pale complexion. Shape wise she has a voluptuous figure, not much fat resides on her body and she seems to be about average to slight above average in height.
Personality: Despite her beauty she is quite unbalanced. Ren is highly manipulative, vindictive, obsessive, bitter, cruel, constantly angry and irrational. Her bitterness is fueled by the perception that her husband loved their daughter more than he loved her. No amount of reassurances from him was able to cleanse her of that bitterness. While she is capable of love and devotion, only one person has ever brought those traits out of her and they seemed to have died along with him. She resents the fact that she was not by his side when he passed away and she never forgave her daughter for being present and blames her for taking her husband's attention away.
Abilities: She's human. While she does have a knack for manipulation and lying to get others to do her bidding, there is nothing particularly remarkable about her.
History: Ren was once just a maid for the Sohma family. She tended to the head of the family, Akira Sohma as he was ill and often bedridden. She saw in him that he was lonely and treated him kindly. Slowly but surely they fell in love with each other. She was the first person to ever see Akira as Akira and not just the head of the Sohma family. They married despite the protest from some of the older members of the family.
When she became pregnant with Akira's child, the junishi children flocked to her excited because they could feel the presence of the God of the Zodiac within her. Akira and the rest of the family were exceptionally excited about the pregnancy. Ren however felt ignored and the seeds of resentment began to grow. She demanded that if their child was born a daughter that she would be raised as a male, she threatened to terminate the pregnancy if that demand was not met. Akira befuddled by his wife's demands but fearful that she would abort their child, he gave in.
Akira was so happy the day their daughter, Akito was born but Ren did not share his excitement. Ren was upset at not having produced a proper male heir and felt threatened that her daughter would 'steal' her husband's love away. Ren never bonded with her child, even refusing to hold her or show any affection to her. So Akira and the maids are the ones who took care of Akito.
Ren was extremely upset when Akira passed away and was not summoned to be by his side. So she never heard Akira's dying words that about their bond being special because of Akito's placement in the Zodiac curse. After his passing one of the maids gave Akito a box and said that Akira had placed his soul in it especially for her. Ren then became obsessive over the box and wanted it, but Akito kept it from her.
Over the years Ren did nothing but feed Akito's insecurities and undermine the young family head at every turn. She then made a bet with Akito that once the Zodiac members found outside connections that they would abandon her because the Zodiac was fake and the 'true love' like what she had shared with Akito's father. Akito accepted the bet, convinced that they would return to her.
Ren took great pleasure in seeing the Zodiac 'bond' fall apart and Akito's inability to keep them near her. When Isuzu 'Rin' Sohma stumbled upon her, and asked if she knew how to break the curse; Ren lied and told her she did. Manipulating the unsuspecting girl to go get the box that Akito had been given years ago. Though that plan failed, but Ren felt no remorse for using Rin.
Finally she confronted Akito about the box, wielding a knife. The two women struggled and finally Akito threw the box at her. Ren dropped the knife and opened the box to find that it was empty.
False memories: Her false memories basically follow her real memories, but she believes that she and the Sohmas have always been in NeoGenesis. Everything after the bet with Akito is made has been erased. So pretty much the bonds of the Zodiac have not really began breaking yet, she is still obsessed over that box and she has never heard of Tohru Honda.

Ren sat in her room, once again confined to her wing by orders of the head of the family. A small sneer crossed her lips at that thought. It was almost unfathomable that she had been the one to birthed such a...creature. A cold feeling sat at the bottom of her belly at the mere thought. The whispers among the household were usually loud. She wasn't deaf, Ren knew they thought her insane. So she was 'insane' and he was 'God'? Pft. His 'godhood' was highly suspect considering his inability to control his precious Zodiac.
She watched with a smile on her face as one by one they proved her right and him wrong. Keep believing in your fake bond. It'll crumble down around you and I'll laugh. She thought bitterly. Her foolish 'son' was trying to weather a storm in a house built of cards and it would not take much for it to tumble down around him. All it needed was one good kick and Ren was determined to be the one to deliver that kick. Then Akira's box would be hers and no one would have to suffer her son's ill-advised turn as head of the family.
Determined that she would not stay inside, orders be damned; Ren got up and went to toward the veranda doors. It was snowing outside but she didn't care. Carelessly she flung the doors open and walked out into the cold morning air. If she became ill, then so be it. It would only mean she'd be that much closer to seeing her husband again. What could be wrong with that?
