HURRICANE RITA UPDATE:
galveston hospitals and nursing homes are under mandatory evacuations, everyone else under voluntary evacuation, except after 6pm tomorrow all of galveston is under mandatory evacuation.
houston may be under voluntary evacuation as early as tomorrow and mandatory by friday. voluntary evacuations start tomorrow and it is advised if you live by a bayou or the shipchannel, get out.
this should be fun. i spent tonight packing up stuff and raising everything in my garage so if water comes it wont damage anything important. the stuff in my house that can't be taken in the car to dallas will be raised onto cinder blocks and wooden planks. we're not like panicking and freaking out, we just want to be prepared. we lost so much to Allison mainly because we weren't in houston when she hit. we don't want a repeat!
