(no subject)
i arrived saturday and that was great. i got to see my cousin, winnie, and her boyfriend, martins apartment. that was awesome! its so colourful and martin is a dj so they had the COOLEST turntables ever. and the apartment is very gorgeous. then we hooked up winnies bike to the car. theres a new law in DK that if you carry something like a bike on the back of your car and the license plate is obstructed from view, you have to attach a copy of your license plate so you can see the plate. makes sense. so naturally while we were driving, the bike and the license plate board came loose. the boards wires broke off. so lars, my younger cousin (who can speak very basic english and heøs only 10! im so proud haha) helped me hold the license board up so you could see it. that was fun.
the next morning, my mom and i slept in which was nice. my moster (aunt-pronounced mustuh), my mom and i took a long walk down by the lake and the farms and ah it was SO pretty. i had forgotten how beautiful the scenery is here. dinner was fabulous. we had potatoes with my mosters famous gravy, salad, and my moms favourite meatballs. mmm! typical danish meal haha. but i love it anyways.
monday, i had my FAVOURITE food ever. its called makrelsalate but i just call it makrel. and AH it was sooooooo good! and i had my favourite drink as well. appelsin squash. appelsin means oragne like the fruit. and the drink is like a very crisp version of orange soda. but its much healthier. my mom, moster, and two of my cousins (mie and lars) went to bymidten. its a little shopping center. kind of like the village i guess. but it was rainy and cold!
tuesday, mie and i went to the beach. its called bellevenue. it was breezy and slightly chilly but it was also warm once we layed out to tan. everyone was playing football (soccer) and mie and i got hit in the head twice with the balls. lol. we both got burned though. then we went to lyngby which is like the galleria area where theres a main mall and then stores all around it and stuff like that. we had lunch at a little pølser kiosk. pølser means hot dog or sausage. yummy. i had my favourite hot dog, a rød pølser. it means red hot dog and i had i think like 4? i was so happy haha. and then we went to matas, a like a walgreens but smaller and they carry mainly health and beauty stuff. we bought aloe vera for our sun burns. also, i read dead poets society outloud to mie so she could stop me and ask what certain words or phrases meant. that was fun. good book too.
wednesday, my mom and i biked everywhere. that was nice. it was cloudy for a while so it got kind of cold. we biked around by a really pretty church where both winnie and mie got confirmed. the strawberry fields where mie and i used to pick strawberries at is right behind the church so my mom and i just walked around and ate some strawberries. mie had her english exam while we were out biking. she made a 9 on her exam! thatd be like a b+ or maybe like an 89 or so on our scale. their grading scale is 0,3,5,6,7,8,9,10,11,13 0 is if you do absolutely horrible. 13 is if you do so outstanding you seem like a genius. haha. the average grade (around an 85) is an 8. so she did pretty good.
thursday, mie and i went to her schools ``end of the year party´´ that was fun. we got a bit tipsy and i tought mies friend kristian (hes 26 and hes SO nice) how to salsa. haha that was entertaining. we talked alot too. he was amazed at the way our society acts. like we dont go out like at 3am because in alot of areas its either against the law for people our age (curfew) or its really dangerous. and that i have a gun at home. see, in denmark, its light even at night. mie and i came home to her apt. at 4:30am from the party and it was still light. almost like 6pm in houston. so that was nice.
friday we went to tivoli with my whole family. it was really chilly but we had jackets. and i had a scarf also haha. then we left around 9 and had dinner at this lovely italian restaurant across the street. for dessert, mie and i shared a vanilla glace (ice cream) with strawberries and tiramisu. yum! then we went right back to tivoli where martin (winnies boyfriend) and i rode the really really fast and crazy roller coasters. nobody else dared to ride the dragon because you spin in a circle but your little seat thingies spin so you flip upside down and just keep going. its SO fun. and then of course the golden tower (its the same as the dungeon drop at astroworld). that was awesome. i met this guy but he was 19 and my mom got mad at me for not wearing the right jacket so i had to say goodbye to him :( he was really nice too! so i slept at mies apartment again. we fell asleep on the train on the way home. that was nice lol.
yesterday morning, we met up at winnie and martins apartment and had breakfast. they fixed eggs and bacon and bread with butter and cheese, tons of fruit, rubina drink, chocolate milk, and some other stuff. i had bread and fruit and bacon because im allergic to eggs. but even so, it was delicious. then we walked to the bus stop and hopped onto the bus. we rode to parkken which is the danish national footbal stadium (soccer stadium) to go to the zulu rock show. in order, nobody beats the beats played first, then natasha bedingfield, nik & jay, arvil lavigne, snoop dogg, nephew, and then some other people. we left after nephew was done. the first, second, third, sixth, and the following bands were all danish. i got beer poured on me because some people were piss drunk. 34 people that i saw were so drunk they passed out and were dragged and carried out. and thats just how many i saw, so theres probably more. it was awesome though! we got home around maybe 3ish?
this morning, winnies alarm clock woke us up at 9. we got dressed and woke martin up to tell him we were leaving. so we walked to a school they agreed to meet up at and we changed into our volleyball clothes and warmed up. finally everyone else arrived and we played for maybe 3 hours? so i got a bit of a tan haha. then winnie and i got some pølsers from the steff pølser stand. yummmmmmmmmm! then we went grocery shopping and caught the bus home. were fixing pasta right now and im eating a little bit of chocolate. my moster and my mom are on the train right now on their way over here. were going to each lunch and then i dont know what well do.
poo. i miss you guys! well some of you anyways.
nellie, at the parkken last night, i got a bunch of hilarious postcards just for you! i cant wait to send them to you. im getting another one with the naked chick because i used yours for sophia since that was my only blank one left. haha
mellie, i hope youre having fun at camp champions! im gonna write you a postcard tomorrow and mail it later because nothing is open on sundays.
megan, i hope ohio is treating you well! tell carmen i said hello ,)
cate-how is the move going? i do hope its going smoothly! and even though its kind of saddening, its nice to sometimes just cry. i hope the cry helped! i miss you pervy :D
felipe-i cant wait to talk to you again! thats one of the things im looking forward to most when i come home!
