One of my staff notified me yesterday that her father-in-law passed away, and today, my furry sister-in-law, Bella, is very unexpectedly dying at a Vet in Seattle. She's my mother-in-law's dear Pomeranian. She got home from work yesterday and found her in mid-seizure. She is the healthier of her two dogs, and has no history of medical problems, so this is a very big shock. She is very upset and heartbroken. The vets have no idea what's happening and they cannot seem to get her to stop seizing.
On that note, after a very scary Friday with my baby girl, Christabel, a few weeks ago, she is doing GREAT. Aside from the fact that she's super-duper skinny, you can't tell she has anything wrong with her (ok, well , her breath smells like she ate a dead cow's butt, but I chalk that up to being an old fart). I couldn't be happier that she's doing so well, eating like a horse and full of energy. It makes it quite hard though, to keep the "one day at a time" mentality. That's part of having a CRF kitty...it's an emotinal rollercoaster....bad days interspersed between many consecutive good days. You never know how long the bad day will last. In her honor though, I got a new tattooo last week - a fancy letter "C" with some decorative work beneath that mimics whiskers :) Oh, and she'll be a teenager on June 16th :) You bet your but we're going to have a party!
Aside from that, just getting uber-excited about vacation in July. I think that about 3/4 of my right foot can already feel the sand.....
